China Glaze Jamaican Out & Cute Story

Just short post today. This is China Glaze Jamaican Out it's part of their coreline so it's very easy to find @ Sally's or etailers!

This polish is one of my go-to summer colors. If you know me you know this is my kinda color. It is coral-red-orange with gold shimmer throughout. I know how everyone loves China Glazes collections, but don't dismiss their coreline colors either. They have some amazing shades and finishes out there that are definitely just as good at their seasonal collection colors!

Now on to my cute story. This is about my Dad. Let me first say I have the best Dad in the entire world. He is a supportive, funny, and loving guy. I miss him and my mom a lot a lot! My parents live in Texas (where I'm from) while I'm school in Florida. My Dad is definitely my hero. Cliche I know, but true. All of that being said my dad reads my blog! He doesn't know squat about nail polish, but he tells me he reads my blog daily. My dad is a business owner and he told me the other day he had a customer come in his store who had nail polish on he recognized from my blog. He then started having a conversation with her about her nail polish and how his daughter blogs about nail polish. He told me the lady had on a "funky french". He had no idea what that was, so I had to explain it to him. After the lady left, he told me he thought to himself he bet that woman never thought in a million years he would of talked to her about nail polish! I thought all this was cute, silly, and sweet so I had to share. :)

  5. Even though I know a lot more about baseball that nails I love your Blog.Thank all of you for the nice comments to me.

By the way I was at an Asian buffet tonight and the server had that Figi color on. NO, I did not say anything to her. She was about 23 years old and she would have thought I was weird.

I will continue to read. Dad

  6. That's such a cute story, you have a great dad.
Can I ask you an off post-topic question? My favorite nail colours are brown like my recent splurge Chanel ParticuliƩre, but sometimes after I take them off my fingernails look stained, like yellow/brownish? Is there anyway I can stop that?

  7. Amanda, are you using a base coat? When I first got into nail polish I never used base coat and I had a lot of yellowish staining. I started using base coat and I no longer have that issue. Some of my favorites are Sally Hansen Double Duty, CND Sticky, and Orly Bonder. In the meantime I know there is product by Sally Hansen called Insta-Brite that will help whiten your nails. I haven't tried it personally though. I hope this answers your question!

  10. Amanda - I have a way for you to help clean that up after it happens. Try a whitening toothpaste. A paste one, not a gel. Works wonders. Either use a scrubbing brush or a old toothbrush to rub it into the nails surface. I have this problem with just about every green I wear. Works a treat for me.

Steph - My dad reads my blog too (he pretends he doesn't, but I know he does!). Just the other night he suggested to me that I should be a cosmetics rep. I had to remind him that I have a well paid job and I didn't attend University for 4 years to squander my jounalism degree on selling make-up. He's cute though and as always - my biggest fan.

  11. Thank you Stephanie and Rebecca!
No I've not been using a basecoat ~I had no idea it even existed! The kind that whitens the nails sounds great as I like the look of whitish nails but usually achieve it with nail polish. I think I'll try it.

Rebecca, I have been wearing so much dark green nail polish recently too, it's all starting to make sense.... that toothepaste trick sounds great I'm going to buy some whitening toothpaste today, I'll let you know how it works for me.
    :-D
