Nubar Vogue Vert

I saw during the holidays Nubar had a 20% of your entire purchase code, so I took the plunge a picked up a few. I really did not have much experience with the brand prior, and I had a few on my wishlist. I wanted to get a few to make it worth my while, so I searched online for swatches to help me add more to my cart. I came across Vogue Vert, a green shade I normally would stay far away from, but I was intrigued. I decided to go for it. I'm happy I did.

Vogue Vert

Vogue Vert is a light sage green creme.

I love this color. What I really love about it is it doesn't make my hands look super red or ruddy like some other shades of green. This is a unique color to me,and I cannot think of any polishes off hand that this shade. This is little more yellow-toned than other mint greens or sea foam greens I'm used to. The formula on this was amazing! I'm used to having a trickier formula with light, pale, or pastel colors. This was not in the least bit chalky or streaky. This was smooth, shiny, and so easy to apply!

Vogue Vert is the type of polish that really makes this blogger super happy. Why? This is an usual color choice for me, and the fact that is exceeded my expectations makes it special. It is always nice after being in this nail polish thing for a few years to really be surprised by a polish. I think I know what I like, but it takes a polish like this to make me re-think and want to expand my polish horizons!

This polish was part of the Nubar Polished Chic Fall 2011 collection. I purchased this on Nubar's website for $8.00.

Happy Monday!

  3. I like this shade - I think I picked up this entire collection. - I used to buy a lot more Nubar then I have since then...not because of the brand but because my collection grew so much I had to get really specific on shades I would add I had too many that were way too close. But this color works well for me and many in this range hue don't - they can be chalky - or too army drab for some times when I don't want that look. Others can be too dark like Essie Sew Psyched for me only works rarely and usually in the fall. This is s shade that works all seasons esp last yr and this yr when we are seeing lots of dumping of the old rules as to what is a season shade range. We have brights in the middle of winter - Chanel just put out a vampy red for spring - I love that the rules are really being broken down.
