OPI Mermaid's Tears

As you've probably noticed lately, I'm going through "I can't settle on a blog layout" phase. I think I'm going to stick with this one though. I really love it at the moment, but that could change :P.

When I first saw the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection, unlike others I was excited about it. I know many people have been swayed into loving it now. The pastels didn't scream "pirates", but these colors really are great! I was skeptical about Mermaid's Tears. Mint greens/pale greens are usually a nightmare combination for my skin tone, but this was a very pleasant surprise!

Mermaid's Tears
Mermaid's Tears is a soft dusty seafoam green creme.

What I love most about this shade and the others in this collection besides the colors is the formulation. These are not stark and chalky pastels. I know many of us have problems with pastels because many those exhibit those qualities. These are great. They are smooth, they're not at all streaky, or harsh looking. The touch of gray to these colors really makes them flattering. :)

Happy Tuesday!

  1. I love this color so much!  It's the only Pirates polish I bought in a full size!  So gorgeous and I love the formula!  I am getting more into the purple from the collection as well!

PS - I'm loving your current layout!  I keep wanting to change mine but I know that once I start, I won't stop!

  2. I was one of the haters of this collection until I tried them and then fell madly in love and apologized to the colors haha. This looks AMAZING on you. AND I love the new layout as well. Very Edgy.

  3. I was so excited I could barely keep my skin on!  I had a friend who works at a salon tell me when they were put out so I wouldn't miss any!  This is deff my fave from the collection though!

  4. I completely agree - these aren't your average 'pastel' colours. As much as some of us were hoping for more pirate-appropriate colours, I really think they nailed (no pun intended.. haha) the formula for these 'difficult' type colours.

PS: Keep this layout - I LOVE IT! I only just settled on my own. Changing it is addicting.

  7. Beautiful color!!! It inspired me to put on Read My Palm by Sephora by O.P.I. today! I wonder how similar they are?

  8. Thanks! I'm not sure how similar they are. Just based off of my probably not great memory..I'd think Mermaid Tears has more of a dusty look to it while Read My Palm is probably brighter.
