Sinful Colors Out Of This World

I won this lovely color from Ice Queen's Nail Parlour giveaway a little awhile ago. This is a color I probably would of never got on my own, but I'm thankful I was able to try it because I really like it. Thank you Ice Queen!

Out of this World

At first I thought this was a layering polish. You can definitely use it as that, but if I don't mind doing 4 coats you can get full coverage. This what I'd call a pale silver foil metallic. In my opinion this color is very unique. I've seen plenty of mid-tone silver foils, but I haven't seen one as light as this. I really like it. It reminds me of snow and the Christmas song "Silver Bells" (and silver bells themselves). Now, that song will be in my head the rest of the day. I think this would be a great holiday color. I know the name doesn't suggest that, but oh well!

My parents are coming in town today for the weekend. I'm very excited to see them. I managed to finish all my school work, so I won't have to worry about that while they're here. My mom is going to color my hair tomorrow. I'm scared I've never colored my hair outside of a salon. My natural hair color is probably the darkest brown you can get before you'd call it black. I wanted to add some red tones to it, so I got this color "dark mahogany brown". I'm paranoid it will turn out to be Ariel red or something. I need to learn to take some risks, so we'll see how it goes!

Happy Friday!

  1. yeah, I always thought that it was a layering polish too, very pretty!
I wanna see your hair once it's colored, I'm a natural red-dark blonde so I have no idea what a mahogany red would do on dark hair but on my hair it makes it go totally dark with some bright red highlights. Just hopefully it won't turn eggplant!

  2. i've heard the SC colors are very sheer. most of the ones i've tried so far were dark but they weren't sheer at all (outside of the glitters)

good luck with your hair tomorrow!

  3. Thanks so much. I don't know if I want to do 4 coats for opacity, but this does look good.

  5. I think the best winnings are when you get something you won't have on your own, but then you really love the prize.

I like how this color works with your skin tone.

OK, I'm coloring my hair this weekend too. But I'm doing it with a kit that has highlights to do afterwards. I've never done my own highlights before. I'm afraid I'm going to end up with orange streaks. And not the fun Halloween kind. I can do your roots for you next time! We need to hook up for some chai before the holidays get here!!!

  8. Sounds like we have the same hair color. Mine looks black unless I am wearing black clothing and you see it against a black shirt or jacket. I color all the time at home and you shouldn't have any problems with the dark mahogany brown. It sounds like a color I would use. Usually coloring hair on your own it turns out darker than you expect, so I really doubt you'll get bright Ariel red!
