Sally Hansen Fireberry Red

Fireberry Red is from the new Fall Xtreme Wears. I have to say overall with the exception of Purple Gala and Mystic Lilac I am very disappointed in this collection. This is probably harsh, but those shimmery colors with the random glitter in it are so ugly to me, especially Golden Child. I don't like when polish doesn't make sense. Does that even make sense? A shimmery color with just sporadic flecks of glitter. It's like they had no idea what do with an already ugly color so they added ugly glitter to it. I must say glitter usually saves the day, but in this case it just makes things worse. This is just my opinion though.

Fireberry Red
Fireberry red is a deep red jelly with red and gold flecks in it. I'm not sure if it's glitter or flecks.

I'm disappointed in this one too. When I first looked at this bottle I was expecting it to be jam packed with this flecky stuff, but it isn't at all. It's mainly the red jelly and some barely visible fleck. Perhaps we all have been spoiled lately with all these amazing polish collections that something like this is now sub par. I wanted to love this color. I love warm colors with gold anything in them, but I find it rather dull. There is too much jelly and not enough glitter. Boo. I'm becoming too hard to please I guess or maybe this color and those others really do just stink? I'll be reviewing Purple Gala and Mystic Lilac later on those are GREAT colors, if only the whole collection were like those!

What do you think of new Sally Hansen Xtreme Wears minus Purple Gala & Mystic Lilac?

Happy Sunday!

  1. I think one does become harder to please after the first 400 bottles.

  2. I dearly love reds. However, it would be a disappointment to see that glitter and it fails to transform onto the nails.

Looking forward to your swatch of Mystic Lilac. I may the only one that had a fail at that.

  3. Well, you know my thoughts on Sally in general. And I would be disappointed too if this didn't offer on the nail what it looked like in the bottle. It is definitely a red and you are a red wearing kinda gal tho. ;)

  4. Well...at least it looks really good on you. Nail fanatics are definitely harder to please than the average polish consumer.
But it's good...keeps the companies on their toes. ^_~

And I agree with you about this collection...only two are worth having and the others are on the ooglay side. But shoo, all the better for my wallet. *shrug*

  6. I've never had luck with any Sally Hansen products honestly. I've tried several different products from this brand and I'm always let down. Oh an I agree about the hideous glitters *gag*!

  7. I'm normally fairly happy with the Sally Hansen polishes I try but I'm not a fan of these new Xtreme Wears. Most of them looked really weird. I tried Cosmic Blue and it was a HUGE disappointment. I wanted to try Mystic Lilac but it was sold out.

  8. I actually really liked Fireberry Red. It's similar to Red Carpet (my go-to red). The glitters in this collection did disappoint me though. I love Mystic Lilac, Purple Gala, and Concrete.

  9. I love this one (I might have to get myself back to Walgreens and pick it up :). I just got Mystic Lilac; it's a really neat color too.

  10. LOL! I was laughng so hard at this post!!! I thought THE SAME THING! I remember staring at the display thinking "None of these colors go together? What is the theme here?"

Oh well, the Insta-Dri colors were way better.

Guess what I got!!! All of the new Matte Suede Revlon colors and three (the three best IMHO) of the new Midnight Muse polishes from L'Oreal! Be on the lookout for them, I think you will love them!

  11. I like the pictures I've seen of this, but I haven't seen any of the collection in person yet...my opinion may change when I do.

  12. I think this was the only color from the fall collection I was really interested in getting... but I have yet to find it. >=(

I totally agree on the weird glitter polishes, from all the swatches I have seen I think they are butt ugly. What were they thinking when they made them?! Sporadic bar glitter in frosty colors? blegh!

  13. I don't like the glitters in this collection either, especially the ones with the bar glitter. I think it looks like I'm growing hair on my nails. I don't want hairy nails!
