Milani One Coat Glitters & Jewel FX

Good news. My kitty's blood work was normal. The vet just switched her to a special diet to help her pee pee problems. Thank you for all of your well wishes and good vibes!

When I found out about these new Milanis I HAD to have them. I searched high and low and eventually spotted them. This is a bit of lengthy post, so I'll do a short review at the end. This will mainly be full of pics! It is probably best to enlarge most of these photos.

Clockwise starting at the top: Red Sparkle, Gold Glitz, Blue Flash, Purple Gleam, Silver Dazzle, Gems, & Gold.

Red Sparkle

Red sparkle a condensed bright warm red microglitter.

Gold Glitz

Gold Glitz is a gold and copper condensed microglitter.

Blue Flash

Blue Flash is a bright lighter blue microglitter.

Purple Gleam

Purple Gleam bright grape purple condensed microgliter.

Silver Dazzle

Silver Dazzle a silver/charcoal condensed microglitter.

I swatched the Jewel FX colors "Gems" and "Gold" over colors on nail wheel. I figured this would be less time consuming.

*1-9 is "Gems" layered over Sally Hansen- White Tip, WnW Black Creme, Revlon- Raven Red, Ulta3- Precious, Ulta3- Snazzle, Eva- Kelly Green, Milani- Tip Toe Pink, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, & China Glaze Grape Pop.
*10-18 is "Gold" layered over the same colors just in reverse order.

Gold is a clear base with large hexagon gold glitter.

Gems is a clear base with a mix of silver, gold, blue, green, & red large and small glitter. This is a supposed dupe or similar color to Deborah Lippmann "Happy Birthday"

Overall, I really love this collection. The "One Coat Glitters" I found to be more like "Two Coat Glitters". These are not jellies or glitter top coats. These are compacted glitters that you can get full coverage with in 2 coats. My only complaint with these as you can probably tell from my photos is that these are difficult to remove from your skin. The tiny glitter particles hold on to your skin for dear life. This will take more than acetone to you remove. It takes quite a bit of scrubbing to remove in the sink. These are gorgeous colors though and for a very reasonable price. The Jewel FX colors are gorgeous no complaints. You don't need to  fish out the bigger glitters with the brush at all. You get all that glitter with the Jewel FX in one coat.

I definitely recommend these to those glitter gals out there. You won't be disappointed even if you have to do some extra scrubbing to remove all that glitz!

Happy Saturday!

  2. Happy dance! I did find some today at CVS. And it was in the South part of the city! lol There was only one left of each. I wondered if you had first call on them. lol Just a thought because I was out east on Goldenrod.

Glad you swatched them so I can see that I did get fairly nice polishes. :D

  3. Ahhh I'm so mad at you for this.
I only wanted Gems, but now I see that I must have Silver Dazzle.
CVS is having a BOGO on Milani that ends tomorrow, so I guess I know what I'm gonna be doing with my evening. LOL.
Thanks for the awesome swatches, and I'm really happy that your kitteh is okay!

  4. omg Steph. i just took off the chunky gold glitter and it was truely a task!!! i would say it took about 30 minutes (ha ha). thank goodness i coated my hands in A&D ointment prior to taking it off. i hope i didn't do too much damage to my skin.

i also got Gems, Gold, Purple Gleam. I want to go back and get Silver Dazzle & Blue Flash, but they're probably sold out :(

I already owned Gems and Gold. Boy are they gorgeous! Then, today I hit CVS searching in vain for Purplex and since the Milanis are all BOGO 1/2 off, I grabbed Blue Flash and Gold Glitz. I can't wait to try them. :D

  14. I removed the glitters pretty easily with the "Foil method", no issues. Application was a bit of a PITA, definitely 2 coaters :)
