Weekly Wax Wrap Up 11/8/15-11/15/15

This was an interesting week of wax for me. This was a week of some very high highs and some very low lows in regards to scents. The more try new scents the more I'm able to hone in on what type of scents are really my favorites. It's interesting how my preferences have evolved over the past few months.

Let's get started!
Better  Homes and Gardens Twinkling Holiday Lights
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I liked this on cold sniff. This a blend of Christmas tree and mint. That being said, when I melted this...I just can't. This one was so pungently strong. These are two very intense notes competing with each other, and I found it so overpowering it was nauseating. I was nauseated hours after I turned this off from that scent. This really needed some crisp airy notes to mellow this one out. The Christmas tree note in this one is very earthy and heavy, and I think a prefer a brighter and fresher Christmas tree note.

Yankee Candle Magical Frosted Forest
Scent Description: An enchanted place where icy breezes playfully dance through tall, snow-coated pines.
My Thoughts: This is a completely different story than BHG Twinkling Holiday Lights. This has that crisp snowy air note paired with a very bright Christmas tree note. This one is refreshing and festive without being overpowering. This is probably my favorite Christmas tree scent that I own.

Ten Digit Creations Ginger Ale
Scent Description: sparkling ginger ale soda
My Thoughts: I love sparkling/effervescent/bubbly scents. This smells like ginger ale, but a very sickeningly sweet ginger ale. This was way too sugary for me. I feel like it was missing some of that spicy/bitter quality of ginger that could of perfected this scent. I'm not going to give up on it though. I really love that fizzy quality it has, and I'm going to try mixing it with a straight up tart cranberry melt I have and see if it tones it down a bit.

Fairy Hill Candles Ocean Blossom
Scent Description: Fresh sea air with a hint of floral
My Thoughts: I'm in love. Ocean Blossom is that perfect blend of ocean, sea air, and clean laundry. It really is absolute perfection for me. If you've ever visited quaint seaside town, and you open your window first thing in the morning you smell Ocean Blossom. It's both fresh and comforting. I need to stock up on this.

Ten Digit Creations Sea Salt & Rice Flower
Scent Description: sea salt mingled with creamy rice flower, citrus peel, and cotton blossoms
My Thoughts: I like this scent, but I don't love it. It's heavy on those fresh laundry/floral type notes which I do like, but I think it could of used a bit more of sea salt and some watery notes in it to make it something from a like to a love. I don't have any problems with it though.

Chesapeake Bay Candle Eucalyptus
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I was afraid I would have the same experience with no throw like I did with the Lavender, but I didn't. This one actually had a strong throw. This had a very fresh and green scent with some floral qualities. I didn't get any of that strong menthol or minty qualities some people expect from eucalyptus. This was very straight up fresh and green. I liked it a lot.

Happy Sunday!
