N.Y.C. Empire State Blue

I have reduced prices on China Glaze, OPI, OPI & more. I've also added 25+ polishes to my blog sale

I pretty much stopped shopping N.Y.C. polishes a year ago. Why? This is a very lazy reason, but wherever I see them they're always on the bottom row of some aisle, and I don't feel like sitting on my behind to look at them. Hey, I'm being honest! Also, I think their look is kind of a dated. I admit I'm drawn in by sleek or flashy bottle design, and these are not that. However, I got a this color as an extra in a swap, and I'm starting to think maybe I'm being a bit of a snob about N.Y.C. polishes.

Empire State Blue
Empire State Blue is a medium blue with a golden-teal shimmer.

This polish is beautiful! Shame on me. I was really pleasantly surprised with this one. Plus, these polishes are $0.99. I mean, even if you hate some after you get it, it's not like you're sacrificing a lot. I think I'll be getting on my bottom now to look at some of these polishes. I won't be a lazy bum about them anymore.

Are there any brands you've neglected for petty reasons?

Come on..validate me people. I can't be the only one!

Happy Friday!

  3. NYC as well, and I'll probably never ever try those Bootie polishes because I hate the stupid butt bottles. Hahah.

  4. Thank you! I hate those Bootie bottles too. They are so tacky.

  5. lol. omg that's really funny. I don't mind squatting down to get the cheapy polish. that's where ppel try to hide random polish things and I find them. I found the last of some sinful nail art polish. I don't like buying thing online...that's my weird thing. I never know what I'm going to get.. and i hate shipping cost. I bought nail polish remover, and looked the same but the formula was not the same as the sephora one. sally hansen non-acetone remover on amazon... it smelled funny and was greasy. :-/ i hate online sometimes.

  6. I know! I heard they were made by a man...maybe that explains why.

  7. I feel the same way about N.Y.C.... they are always on the bottom and I don't like their bottles! Too funny! This is a great color though.

  8. I know.. they're always on the bottom and I'm lazy too. But I LOOOOOVE their quick-dry top coat. I think it's called 'Grand Central Station'? It's fabulous.

  9. Yeah, I know what you mean. It's just awkward to kneel or sit on the floor and then bending over is uncomfortable and you can't really see them all. I make the sacrifice for Sinful Colors though ;)

  10. Lovely! Also, your nails are so beautiful. I really love the length.

  11. Do you notice that they take forever to dry?

  12. NYC hasn't dazzled me with their shades lately. And come to think of it, I don't have hardly any to begin with.

  14. I just can't buy Avon polishes.  I actually can't buy Avon ANYTHING, because it reminds me of the Avon lady coming to the house when I was a kid and my Mom buying nasty bright pink lipstick...

  15. I agree with you about online stuff. I've noticed lately that I really need to see a polish in person before I can determine if I really want it. I love seeing swatches online, but sometimes that isn't enough.

  16. I know, why do I want crouch down to look at them. Haha, I'm so lazy.

  17. Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I haven't tried their quick-dry top coat. I'll need to look into that.

  18. Oh no, that stinks your Sinful Colors in that position. They're definitely worth it though.

  19. I didn't notice that with this one. I haven't tried many other colors though.

  20. Me either, but I may take a second look at them this time, rather than dismiss them all together.

  21. Haha, that's a good enough reason for me.

  22. I love Empire State Blue! It's such a cool mermaid-y color. I usually never buy NYC polishes either because they're always so low. I can't bend down that far, it hurts my old lady knees! Have you tried any of their In a New York Color Minute line? West Village and Chinatown are amazing!

  23. if you go look on vampy varnish NYC has changed their bottle shape...they copied someones. you should check it out

  24. I love this polish.  Such an awesome color with a gorgeous shimmer!  Looks amazing on you!  :D  And I had to LOL when I read that you don't want to sit on the floor to look at the NYC polishes because I feel the same way!  Put those pretties up higher, NYC!  XD
