OPI Merry Midnight was one of those polishes I regretted not getting. When I first heard about Orly Fowl Play, I knew I had to get it. What's funny about this one is I had no trouble finding it. I heard a lot of other bloggers were having problems finding it. It's usually me who has the issues finding the good stuff! It was nice surprise to find this one. I actually found it on an Ulta trip with
Libby's Pink Vanity. Thankfully, they had more than one, so we didn't have to fight over it!
Fowl Play
Fowl Play is a deep purple jelly mixed in with irregular shaped iridescent flakies and silver microglitter.
That's a mouthful. It really is a kids left over craft project poured in a bottle. It's a bottle full of fun and sparkle. You can't go wrong. This isn't an exact dupe to OPI Merry Midnight, but from what I can tell it's close enough. My only issue with this is the jelly base is a bit sheer. This does require more coats, but it can still be a bit patchy application wise. I think this could look better layered over a deep purple creme or black.

ReplyDeleteI'm surprised by how much I am loving Orly lately...I feel like I neglected them before! I picked up this one plus 2 others from this collection. I love that you get a good amount for the price with Orly (like I'm ever going to use up an entire bottle of polish! :) ) Looks super on you!

ReplyDeleteI've picked this up recently and I have to admit I'm not that impressed with the formula. I don't know if it's because of how sheer is it or the jelly base but when it dried there very obvious receding at the tips. And I think it smells! But apart from that I love it :-)
ReplyDeleteI love this color! Of course I can't find it anywhere even close to me so I just bought it on e-bay. I haven't worn it yet but all of the pics I've seen of it are gorgeous!
