I've come to the conclusion that I have a nail polish pet peeve. There are few things about polishes that irritate me.... too thin formula, too thick formula, long drying time, and etc. That's part of the game, so I can manage, but colors like the following really tick me off. They seem like cop outs.
Jordana Purple Glam
This is probably very picky, but this formula is crap. It's patchy and inconsistent, but what I hate most is they've taken an already ugly color (thanks to the frosty finish) and loaded it with glitter as if that makes it look better. No, fail. This is a gritty ugly mess. You cannot save ugly frosty colors by adding glitter. I believe some Sally Hansen Xtreme Wears this past fall attempted to do the same thing. It just looks like they got lazy and couldn't figure out how to save a color, so they threw some glitter in it.
I know you're thinking, why did you buy this then? Well, in the bottle I just saw glitter. Glitter has some power of me, so I'm drawn to it. As that famous saying goes "all that glitters is not gold". I think this is the situation here. Oh well.
Before I go..you must feast your eyes on this insane amount of cuteness!
I haven't really been happy with Jordana polishes lately. Bought a few glitter one and the application and how many coats I have to put and yet not one look decent. But on the side note lol that is one super cute puppy. AWW!ReplyDelete
Eek! I don't know if this polish could have been more of a fail. :(ReplyDelete
That IS a stinkin' cute photo!!!
This whole post made me smile. Your reaction to the polish is priceless and I am glad you honestly documented it for us. I have been there before with polish. And thanks for countering it with cuteness at the end :)ReplyDelete
I beleive I" have this, either that or I have one just like it from another brand (I'm too lazy to go check) and the application was absolutely horrendous! It was soooo gritty I even put two coat of top coat on top and it still felt disgusting. I didn't find the color to be that ugly but I had to take it off immediately, it was a real let down.ReplyDelete
It doesn't look like a fail from your photos!ReplyDelete
I think it looks lovely. Where did you get your Jordana's some place in Orlando? email me nailsbeautiqued (at)yahoo (dot)com Thanks :)ReplyDelete
