Maybelline Cool Couture & Ulta Haul

Maybelline has really disappointed me lately with their seasonal collections. I remember in past years they had some better collections that I'll always pick a few out of. The worst collection was their 2011 Spring collection with those nasty sheer duo-chromes. Gah. They redeemed themselves for me with this single Fall 2011 collection color. I didn't bother with the others, but this one almost made me forget the other pitfalls.

Cool Couture
Cool Couture is a deep blue toned gray with teal shimmer throughout.

I absolutely adore this color! This has all the attributes of a great polish. The color is great the shimmer is unique and unexpected. It's especially unexpected for it being such a run-of-the-mill drugstore brand polish. The formula was on point. This color is great for fall. Win win win! Please Maybelline make more polishes like this.

Also, be sure if you're near an Ulta today to take advantage of their Butter London BOGO free sale. I heard all of these are sold out online, but I'm confident you'll find them in stores. I went today and the Butter London display was well stocked.

  •  Essence Holographic.com polishes- Gagalectric, Prism@tic White, & Blue Ray (They're not really holographic they're duochrome shimmers)
  •   Revlon Edgy Elegance- Girly (I now regret not getting Fierce)
  •  Pixel- Oh Goly Gee
  •  Butter London- Toff, Henley Regatta, Artful Dodger, & Marrow

    I got All Hail the Queen and Queen Vic.  I already have British Racing Green, Wallis, and Yummy Mummy.

    Scoundrel Lady Muck, British Racing Green and Victoriana- these are my first bl polishes, never had the budget to try them! I got mine online with free shipping, so I have to wait to try.. :(

    Toff, Big Smoke, British Racing Green, and Fash Pack.  I also purchased 2 base coats and received 2 top coats free on line so I could receive the free No More Waity Katie lipgloss.

    I picked up similar items at Ulta today!  I only got 2 butter LONDON polishes though, cuz the SA told me limit 2 meant limit 2 polishes only. :(  I would've gotten 4 if I could...I ended up with All Hail the Queen and Big Smoke. 

    I also picked up two of the Essence Holographic.com polishes (skipped out on Prismatic White) and 1 Revlon polish (Royal Cloak from the Masquerade collection).

    Can't wait to see your swatches! :)

    i still have not found this Maybelline!!!  ooooooh, i'm too excited about the BL deal but i have to wait a few days for mine. can't wait to see your swatches.

    I got Wallis and No More Waity Katie from Butter and ANja and Cynthia from Zoya... my first Butter London and Zoya purchases ever! I'm So excited to try them out!

    Oh this is such a lovely color! Nice haul btw. Lucky you for the Essence holos, have been trying to get my hands on them all Summer here in Switzerland. Unfortunately they were all sold out by mid July... Can't wait to see the swatches :)

    Hee! I went to Ulta today for the butter London sale (I had it mentally marked on my calendar since the beginning of the month!) and picked up a lot of the same stuff as you. I have been wanting All Hail the Queen and Marrow for awhile, so that's what I got. I also got Revlon Girly and Fierce and Essence No More Drama to put me over the $10 mark so that I could use the coupon. And I already got the Essence "holographics" a few weeks ago at another Ulta even though the one nearest me was JUST putting together the display today (I saw the girl working on it behind the counter). The in-store butter displays were well-stocked around me too, so anyone looking to take advantage of the sale should definitely check in-store if they are able.

    I sent my mom to ulta today. I had polishes picked out online but they were definitely sold out. My mom picked Knees Us, Wallis, No More Waity Katie, and Toff. I really wanted All Hail the Queen, but my mom has pretty great taste!

    I wasn't impressed with the butter London selection at my Ulta but I did pick up Big Smoke and HRH. I am wearing Big Smoke and I LOVE it.

    Ugh, I need Cool Couture like yesterday, but I haven't had time to go to CVS in ages.   I better find it when I go darn it, because that shimmer makes it top notch.

    Good choices! I think I may need to get British Racing Green next. I always pick that one up, but haven't purchased it yet.

    Agh, I wish I would of got Revlon Fierce too. I debated it, but I was already spending a lot, now I regret it. I hope I can find it at CVS because I have a coupon for stuff there.

    You got started on the right food with both of those brands. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I have Wallis on now, and it's amazing!
