Butter London No More Waity, Katie

Today, I have for you a fairly popular Butter London color. I love the name of this. I wasn't heavily into the Royal Wedding, but I admit I watched it. I loved the wedding, the dresses, and everything. I do like this polish color, but I don't think it lives up to the grandeur of it's namesake.

No More Waity, Katie

No More Waity, Katie is a gray-toned deep purple jelly with lavender glitter.

I really like the concept of this polish. The problem with this one is the formulation. The jelly-like base on this is thick and clumpy. The polish goes on goopy and streaky. Plus, the pigmentation in the base color isn't very strong so your nail can show through. This is like trying to spread molasses on your nails. This was after applying thinner to it. It still was a mess. This could of been a winner if the base of the polish wasn't so sheer and goopy.  On a positive note, the color and finish is clearly unique and beautiful.

Would I recommend it? I like having it, perhaps that is due partially to me being an Anglophile. It's really up to the person. If you like the color you it may be worth the fuss to you if not, don't bother. :P

Happy Friday!

  2. I LOVE this in swatches and I was lemming it forever. Got it during the BOGO BL sale at Ulta... and you're right. The formula SUCKS and I can't stand the thought of having to apply 3-4 coats to all 10 nails so I haven't worn it yet. I'm glad I got it so that I can stop wanting it.. but I kind of wish I'd gotten something else.

Looks fab on you, though. But then again.. you make everything look gorgeous. :)

  3. Uh-oh, that stinks! I also got this at the Ulta BOGO sale but haven't tried it yet... booo! Oh well, it is a pretty color!

  4. Such a gorgeous color. Pity about the formula though! :(

  5. I really feel like if a brand is going to charge THAT much for a bottle of nail polish, the formula needs to be spot on.

  6. Try layering it  over Color Club's Rad Nomad or another dusty purple. I almost didn't get it since a lot of the reviews were saying about the bad formula.  I hate having to apply 3 or 4 coats of polish but using it as a layer polish I only had to use 2 at the most. Utla's  sale sucked me in, plus Katie is my daughter's name so I had to have it!

  7. I'm conflicted with this one, it's a gorgeous color and I love jellies but I have heard nothing but horror stories about the application. Not sure if I want to spend $14 on a polish that will make me angry. ;p

  8. This is beautiful! I have yet to buy Butter London nail polish because no one has good things to say about the formula. Too bad :(
I have to admit I wasn't into the royal wedding either. (I blame the Canadian press for inundating us with useless info for the 5 months up to the date) I did watch and gush, and cry like a big baby. Everything was so lovely!

  9. I've seen lots of swatches of this and it looks great, but I still haven't bought any Butter London polishes yet.

I'm surprised that the formula was so bad even after using thinner. On your nails, it looks wonderful and I wouldn't have known you had trouble with it if you didn't mention that.

The royal wedding wasn't important to me. I didn't even watch it. Kate is pretty and seems very lady-like, but I'm not really into the royal family. It's great if they do a lot of charity work, but...they're just people to me.

I get way more excited about authors, actually...like Susan Jane Gilman. Some people put celebrities on pedestals. For me, I put writers on pedestals because it's a craft that I really respect.

  10. Thanks for reviewing this. After hearing the issues you had with it, I'm glad I didn't pick it up.

  11. I have it - actually it just came in the mail today - I have only swatched it on a piece of paper thus far. I did notice it was goopy. I will proceed with caution.

  13. The color is just not special enough for me. I'm not a fan of the Royal Wedding, nor did I watch (I couldn't be bothered). The color isn't unique, so this is definitely a pass for me.

    Thanks for reviewing it!

  14. You're welcome I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

  15. Haha, yes do so.

  16. Yeah, it's definitely a miss if it's not worth the hassle to you.

  17. I totally understand your point of view. I'm not royal-family gaga. I just like the tradition of it all. I suppose being in America we don't have a lot of traditions or historical things that date back very far. It's neat to see an event and customs so deeply rooted in history. I'm not into celebrities either. It would be nice if they put some more hard-working inspirational people up on a pedestal. I agree!

  18. It was lovely! I've found probably a majority of my BL polishes to be superb in color and formula, but 2 of them I have are complete and utter crap formula wise. It's really a shame for such a pricey polish.

  19. Yeah, it's definitely a risk when you're spending that much. I don't regret getting it, but I wouldn't go as far as to tell people they need this. It's a nice color, but it's up to what you're willing to put up with.

  20. Thanks for the tip!

  21. I agree. I have handful of BL polishes, and majority of them are great, but two of them including this one suck formula wise. It's disappointing.

  22. I think you'll definitely like the color, just be aware it's a pain in the butt to work with!

  23. Aww thanks! Yeah, it's definitely worthwhile for the color, but application sucks.
