Indie Coalition for a Cause Supports Equality Now Fundraiser

I have a different post for you today. Something I find very important and valuable in my life is to give back. Every week I volunteer at the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. I help provided enrichment activities, socialize, and help adopt out owner relinquished animals. This gives me meaning and purpose and is something I absolutely love to do. One thing I've always wanted was to be able to combine the concept of giving back with nail polish. 

This is where the Indie Coalition for a Cause comes in. I am so excited and grateful to be a part of this group. The Indie Coalition for a Cause is a group of independent nail polish makers and bloggers dedicated to supporting different charities across the globe. Our goal is to hold two fundraisers a year. Each fundraiser will support a different cause. We have decided to raise money for the charity Equality Now for our inaugural fundraiser.

Equality Now is an organization that advocates for the human rights of women and girls around the world by raising international visibility of individual cases of abuse, mobilizing public support through global membership, and wielding strategic political pressure to ensure that government enact or enforce laws and policies that uphold the rights of women and girls. Their areas of focus include discrimination in law, sexual violence, female genital mutilation and trafficking. The members of the Indie Coalition for a Cause are in full support of this charity as we both envision a world in which women and men have equal rights under the law and full enjoyment of those rights.

ICC Equality Now Fundraiser: How YOU Can Help

The wonderful indie makers that are members of the ICC have contributed custom nail polishes made for this specific event to help entice you to donate to this noble cause. Photographed below are the polish prizes, including a few non-custom extras. Donations are to be made to the ICC fundraiser located here in increments of $5 and those that wish to be included in the raffle drawing may enter the rafflecopter below at the end of this blog post. There are two prize packs for this raffle: one large prize and a second smaller one. At the time of this post, there are still a few polish prizes trickling in, so there will be even more for our generous donators!

Please note that this is not like my typical giveaway. In order to be eligible to win, you must visit the Crowdrise page here and donate to the campaign. The rafflecopter is set up such that the larger the donation, the more chances you get to win these beautiful polish prizes.

Imperfectly Painted Turns 4 Giveaway!

Today is Imperfectly Painted's 4th birthday. I started this blog April 10, 2010. Every year that goes by I'm amazed I'm still doing this blogging gig! I've never been someone to keep up with any journal or anything of the sort. I really love blogging, and it's unfortunate that I'm celebrating this awesome occasion during a stinky time for me personally/health wise. Silly Bee's Chickadees: Steph's Toy Chest Swatches & Giveaway

The day has finally come! Today, is the release of Silly Bee's Chickadees The Gift of Melly collection. I was so honored to be asked to be a part of this project. My favorite holiday movies have always been the original Home Alone films. I was always awestruck by the scene in Home Alone 2, where Kevin goes into the massive Duncan's Toy Chest store completely decorated like a Christmas wonderland. I love everything and sparkly and festive, so this was my inspiration for my polish...

My charity of choice is the SPCA of Central Florida. I spend 1-2x a week here volunteering. If you follow my Instagram, I'm sure you're used to my bombardment of cat pictures on Wednesday and Fridays! The love, care, and attention given to these animals by staff and volunteers is incredibly heart warming and inspiring to me. This organization not only has made the lives of dogs and cats better, but it has made my life richer.

This is such a versatile glittering top coat. I love it over dark colors and light colors. The layering options are endless. I used 2 coats over each base.

Beautifully Disney 2,500 Reader Giveaway!

I am not a blogger who really keeps track of my numbers, but I hit 2,500 readers on GFC yesterday! That is a pretty awesome milestone that I can't help but celebrate.

I sincerely appreciate all of you who read this blog. Imperfectly Painted has not only allowed me to share my love of nail polish with you, but it's given me the confidence to share myself with you all.

I was a very stifled as a child in school and among my peers. I was a sensitive, imaginative, and quiet kid. Unfortunately, by many teachers and friends this was frowned upon as being anti-social and weird. I was basically told being myself was not OK. That hurt, and I'd be lying if it still doesn't bother me to this day.

Thankfully, through Imperfectly Painted I've given myself the freedom to be myself. Imperfectly Painted is this first time and place in my entire life I feel I can be this way. The best gift of all is that all of you support and appreciate me and this blog just the way it is. Thank you all so much for allowing this blog to be a part of your day.

I have a little prize to celebrate and as thank you to all of you! I picked up some Beautifully Disney polishes at Walt Disney World. The full sizes of these polishes are only available at Disney Parks so hopefully this a treat!

Cult Nails Road Trip, Anyone? Swatches & Giveaway

I have to share with you the latest Cult Nails collection--Road Trip, Anyone? today. This is a fun assortment of 3 bright shades with 2 nifty top coats. Also, at the end of my review I will be giving away a set of this collection to one of you! 

Be Loco

Be Loco is a bright pinky-coral creme.

Riot

Riot is a bright pastel teal creme. 

Party Time

Party Time is a bright marine blue creme. 

All Out

Mayhem

Mayhem is a silvery holographic top coat.

Color: I love the bright colors in this collection. I think they're fun, vibrant, and saturated. Party Time was really hard to photograph, but it is way more intense and saturated in the photos. All Out can completely change the color of your base polish, while giving it this awesome intense shimmer. Mayhem is a gorgeous holo topper that gives a soft holographic effect.

Formula: I liked the formulas of all of these. I found most of them easy to work with and apply. I did have some issues with Party Time leveling out on my nail a bit, but nothing overly troublesome. Riot and Party Time have the potential to be stainers, but Maria from Cult Nails has provided a short video on how to avoid this.

Price: The collection is currently be sold on the Cult Nails website for $62.00. You will be able to purchase these individually soon.

Overall: I really enjoyed this collection. I love all the base colors, but I'm a bit partial to Riot. I don't have anything like that in my collection. The addition of the 2 top coats is awesome. They both can transform your nails in subtle or a more intense way!
