Milani Gems Matiffied!

I just want to remind everyone that I now have a Facebook fan page. You can like it on the right sidebar, that is if you like me! :P

One of the nail trends I never got into was matte polish. There is something about the look and the texture that bothers me. The few matte polishes I own I always add top coat to. It wasn't until I saw this post on Ali's Nail News, that I knew I had to get a matte top coat just for this reason. Glitter with matte top coat is amaizing!

Milani Gems over WnW Black Creme topped with Essie Matte About You

This is amazing! I love the look of this. I still don't care for the texture of my nails mattified, but I'll make a compromise for this look! I think I actually prefer this glitter matte than shiny. :)

Happy Monday!

  1. I also have never got into the matte polishes, but lately have been getting the urge to try them.  This is an amazing look and a great example of why I need to be more "Matte-open minded". ;)

  4. This looks awesome! Personally I love matte polishes but I get why others don't like the look. Matte over glitter and matte over flakies certainly looks stunning.

  5. Love this! I don't mind matte polish.. just as long as it's on other people. I've tried this look out before but ended up putting a shiny top coat back over it. ♥

  11. Interesting. I cannot think I would like matte top coat better than a glossy top. Don't you loose some of the refractive index of all the wonderful glitter coat with the matte on it?

  19. Haha, I understand. I still am a bit bothered by the matte texture, something about my nails not feeling slick is off putting to me, but I held out with this look.

  21. I agree, though it wasn't my original idea. Whoever first did this I owe gratitude to!

  22. A little bit, but they still are shiny. It just gives off a different look that I think is cool. I think it brings out the glitter better if everything is shiny the glitter sometimes can get lost.
