Cherry Culture Haul & Moo Cards

I recently did a Cherry Culture haul, and I'll put it on record it's probably one of the best hauls I've ever done! I always have seen nail polish on Cherry Culture, but I always held back from purchasing because majority of the polishes I could never find swatches of. I then saw this haul from Bonny Binnacle, and it pushed me over the edge. I'm going to take a risk!

I ended up ordering 11 polishes, 9 NYX and 2 Sinful Colors. I was able to see a few swatches, but I'd say 8 out of the 11 of these I relied on the swatches on the website, which is never a good guide. When I got my package yesterday, I was over the moon!

 L-R: NYX Girls
Maven, Complex Purple, Collection Noir, & Emerald Forest

L-R: NYX Girls
Frizz Spots, Turks & Caicos, & Dorothy (I'm pretty sure this is a dupe to Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers

L-R: NYX
Las Vegas & Maroon

L-R: Sinful Colors
Suede Shoes & Agaci

I am so impressed with these polishes. A few of these polishes are better for layering, but there are quite a few that are opaque within a reasonable amount of coats. If you are a glitter lover these are most definitely for you. These are some of the most unique glitters I've ever encountered! It's safe to say I'm sure some of these polishes will make it into my Top 20 of 2011! I of course, will be posting swatches of these soon! :)

I also went ahead and made some mini moo cards for my blog. These are small sized business cards. I learned about these through The PolishAholic & Once Bitten. You can really be creative and customize these cards to your liking. On the other hand, if you're not in the creative spirit , you can go a very simple route. They have a lot of templates you can choose from, fonts, colors and etc. This is what I did.  I know these are probably a little yawn-worthy to some, but I like the simple right now! I only got a 100 cards to start, so maybe later on I'll create some more exciting ones.

I like the design I chose for the back. It's not only that design, but there are quite a few different "painted" looking designs. I think the design suited my blog name. I like them. They're cute, and they'll be fun to put in giveaway and swap packages! :)

Happy Friday!

Ulta Pinata Yada Yada

I must thank my boyfriend for seeing this polish. We were shopping in the shopping center Ulta was in, and the second I say "Can we go into Ulta just for a few minutes", I get the automatic pitiful groan. When I'm with him I try to be fair and do a quick skim of the store. I was about to done skimming and was just standing by the Ulta polishes thinking if I missed something, and he was bored out of his mind putting polishes that were in the wrong slots in the right one. So, he picks up Pinata Yada Yada which I see out of the corner of my eye, and snatch it from him. Multi-color sparkly glitter...must have! I'm sure he wishes he didn't do that. I pay for my own polish, but he has to live with all. I know he just tolerates it, but he can manage. :P

Pinata Yada Yada over black
Pinata Yada Yada over white
Pinata Yada Yada is a clear base with differently sized blue, green, silver, pink, red, & gold glitters.

There are lot of colors in here I may of even missed on. These multi-colored glitter bomb top coats seem to be pretty popular lately. I know this was started by Deborah Lippmann "Happy Birthday". So far I know of Milani Gems, Wet n' Wild Party of 5 Glitters, NYX Carnival, and of course this Ulta one. I love these glitters especially since I don't have to pay $18 for them! A bottle of Pinata Yada Yada is in one of my prize packs for my current giveaway!

Happy Thursday!

Pink Wednesday: Finger Paints Rose Patina

Does anyone else get the most random songs stuck in their head? Right now, I have "Endless Love" in my head. There is nothing wrong with that song. In fact, it's really beautiful. I love those 80's love songs that some may call cheesy, you know the ones by Luther Vandross (may he rest in peace one of my all time favorite singers), Anita Baker, Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton, Christopher Cross, and etc?  I know, it's weird a lot of those songs came out before I was born.

Back to Pink Wednesday! I found this Finger Paints color at Sally's recently. I got it as part of the Buy 2 Get 1 free sale they have going on all nail polish this month. I always was interested in this color, but never got around to getting it. I have it now, and I'm pleased.

Rose Patina
Rose Patina is a rosy-barbie pink with a golden shimmer.

No need to go through this. Pink + gold shimmer = instant love for me. Yes, pretty much any color that's a variation on China Glaze Strawberry Fields I'm going to love. I have feeling this pink & gold shimmer thing is getting kind of redundant. :-/ I was actually worried about this color at first. I thought it maybe sheer based on what I saw on the bottle, but it's not at all. I like how sweet and girly this color is, which is why a lot of people probably won't like it! :P

Happy Pink Wednesday!

Revlon Scented Not So Blueberry

Let me preface this by saying this is one of Revlon's scented nail polishes. The idea of scented nail polish is intriguing, but if you're sensitive to smells I don't think these are ideal for you. These tend to be intensely scented to the point I find them slightly nauseating. This is just me though, but I would like to throw it out there to those of us with more sensitive noses! Even though I say all that as you'll see below, I'm willing to make some sacrifices.

Not So Blueberry
Not So Blueberry is light-medium periwinkle foil metallic.

I absolutely love this color! I can't tell you enough. Usually when it comes to these foil/metallic finishes with color in them they are tend to be very lightly pigmented, but this one does have punch of color. Plus, it's in that blue-violet/blurple shade range which is one of my favorites. I don't own any other color like this.

Now on to the downside. This has one of those artificial fruity smells. It's very strong in my opinion and off putting. That all being said, I think for this type of color call me crazy, but I'll take a chance on the headache and queasiness that might ensue from putting on this polish.

What do we for nail polish! We drive around town visiting various locations for a certain polish ,we stalk e-tailers for new collections, we'll break out $$ for HTF colors, and now we'll settle for having a migraine just to wear a pretty color! That leads me to this question....

What is the most ridiculous thing you think you've done for nail polish?

Happy Tuesday!

Sinful Colors Fig

Thank you all so much for all of your kind comments yesterday. I really appreciate them. Later today, I will reply to all of you. This next color is one of the new Sinful Colors I found. I believe this was part of the Polka Dots collection. At first glance I thought this color was pretty drab, but when I put it on I really loved it.

Fig
Fig is a medium fig/plum shade with a subtle shimmer.

I know this color isn't probably the most enthralling of nail polish colors, but I really like it. I tend to gravitate towards more of the blue-violets shades, so this is a nice change for me. I  really think this compliments my skin tone nicely. I would love a creme version of this shade, but the shimmer is good with me too!

Happy Monday!
