L.A. Colors Swatches

Before I share the swatches with you I wanted to just make you aware of some things I added to my blog. I updated my header. I think it looks better. There are no missed spelled words and it's cleaned up!. If you look above you'll see links to pages. If you click on "My Stash" it will show you a complete list of all the nail polish I have. If you're interested in seeing a certain color(s) swatched you can email me or leave me comment! Also, on my sidebar I added a poll. I think I'll do weekly polls just for fun and some to help me out with future giveaways!

On to L.A. Colors! This is my first experience with these and overall I'm pleased.
Pros:
-Amazing variety in finishes (duochrome, shimmer, jelly, creme, neon, frost, foil, glitter)
-Great price
-Plenty of colors to choose from
Cons:
-Some of the colors formulas are thin and require many coats

Blue Paradise

This is beautiful original color. I haven't seen a color like it. It's pale blue-violet shimmer with a gold/pink duochrome. It is gorgeous. This goes on very sheer. It took me around 5-6 coats to get this result. I think it would be great for layering but personally I think it's worth the extra coats to wear it on its own!

Enchanting

This is a lavender shimmer with gold/pink duochrome. Beautiful shade. Again, like Blue Paradise this went on very sheer. I did this in 4 coats and you can still see a bit of VNL (visible nail line). Regardless, beautiful color and totally worth the extra effort!

Antique Burgundy

This is the only color I'm disappointed in. In the bottle this appeared to be more of bronzy red w/ gold shimmer. On the nail it looks more like a true red with subtle gold shimmer. The color has burgundy in its name and there is nothing burgundy about it. It's a pretty color but not unlike many reds I already have. :(

Berry

In the bottle I thought this was going to be a berry-red creme, but on the nail it is a berry-red jelly! I love jellys and this was a pleasant surprise. I definitely do not have a color like this especially with a jelly finish.

Metallic Pink

This is pink silvery foil! This is definitely a winner especially for $2. This looks great and really only needs 1 coat. I think I'm going back to the store to get the metallics in other colors

Pink Sizzle

I LOVE this one. Pink Sizzle is a pink-violet shimmer with gold duochrome. It is a beautiful color that looks different at different angles and light. It reminds me of a sunset.

That's all for L.A. Colors swatches? What do you think of these colors do you have a favorite?

Enjoy the rest of the day!

Wet N' Wild Swatches & L.A. Colors Haul

Wet N' Wild has done an amazing job at re-vamping their brand. I have been trying all their products and I am very impressed. They are current, the quality is great, and best of all it's all for a great price! I must say my favorites are their eye shadow palettes and their nail polishes! I picked up these 2 polishes the other day.

Blackmail

This is unique black. This is a black creme base with a ton of mixed micro glitter mixed in. It's unlike any other black I have used which tend to be cremes or have sliver glitter mixed in. The glitter in here is mainly bronze but there is also silver, green, and purple.

Shield

Shield is a champagne/gold metallic with bits of silver and bronze mixed in. I don't have any colors like this so I'm really excited. It's a great metallic or would you call this a foil? I'm not sure. I'm so bad at identifying finishes.

Today I found another beauty supply store. I think it's a local store because when I looked it up in only showed local in my city. They had great prices, but the people there were far from professional. One of the ladies working there was on her cell phone yelling obscenities while I was in there :-/. They had OPIs for $7, Orly's for $5, and L.A. Colors for $2. I think I can ignore the lady on the phone for cheap polish. I got some LA Colors polishes there. These are my first polishes from this brand so I'm excited.

L-R:
Berry, Blue Paradise, Enchanting, Antique Burgundy, Metallic Pink, & Pink Sizzle

Anyone have experience with this brand? Thoughts? Favorites? I'll be posting swatches of these later in the week.

Have a great day!

Claire's Diva & Icing Roger That

Today I found this smaller beauty supply store in the mall closest to me. They sold OPI & Essie polishes so I grabbed OPI Funky Dunkey. I've been into the blue and purples cremes lately so that fulfilled a lemming! They also had a small salon in there, that offered eyebrow threading which I haven't been able to find near me! I can't wax my brows because I have such sensitive skin I get really bad reactions including one time my eye swelled up the size of golf ball! Anyways, I got my brows done and Funky Dunkey in one trip! I've lived here 3 years and never stopped in there until now. I'll definitely being going back for polishes and brow touch ups!

Today I'm going to show you Claire's Diva and Icing Roger That. I like Claire's and Icing polishes they don't have the widest selection but they do have some unique colors and usually have BOGO sales on cosmetics so it works out well.

Claire's Diva

I know this looks weird. What I did is on my index and ring finger I did the polish over black and one my middle and pinky finger I did it on its on. It's a med-purple micro glitter in a clear base. I think it looks great either way, but over the black it really add a lot of depth!

Icing Roger That

At first I thought this was a dupe to ChG Watermelon Rind, but it's definitely not. I'd say Roger That is Watermelon Rind's lighter and brighter cousin. It is a turquoise jelly base with silver glass fleck. It's a beautiful polish, that has actually been in my untrieds for over a year. Shame on me! I will definitely be sporting this beauty more.

That's it for today. I am hitting the pool today. It is so hot out here I just want to swim. I'm so excited. I used to swim all the time as a kid, but as I hit my teens I never wanted to swim anymore because I was so self conscious about how I looked in a swimsuit. I'm sure we've all been there. It sucks, because I loved swimming so much. Now at 23, I don't give a rat's behind so I'm going to enjoy it!

Have a great day!

Cool Off Colors

I don't know about everyone else, but where I live it is hot! I know I shouldn't expect any less since I live in Florida, but I hate the heat! It's not so much the heat as it is the humidity. Blech.

Today I wanted to show some cooler colors that I think will be great for spring/summer!

Orly La Playa

This is part of the Orly Viva Summer 2010 Collection. It is a dark navy blue creme that applies like a dream (cheesy rhyme). I am in love with this color. This is my first experience with dark blue cremes. I never thought they'd look good on me, but I am pleasantly surprised. I think it's launched a new love for me. I'm now on the hunt for more med-dark blue and med-dark purple cremes!

Petites Figi

On the bottle this says Figi, but I'm not sure if they meant Fiji? Can you spell it both ways? Anyways, this is a shimmery turquoise color. It looks like crushed up pearls put into a polish. It's very pretty and I can't get enough turquoise!

China Glaze Watermelon Rind

Watermelon Rind is a green-blue color with silver and green glass fleck. This color is very unique and very beautiful. It reminds me a lot of the color of tiles you see in some mosaics.

Sally's Girl Surf's Up (812047)

Surf's Up is a sky blue with a hint of aqua creme. The color reminds me a lot of the color of water you see in the tropics. The reason I put a number beside the name is because the last trip I took to Sally's Beauty supply these polishes no longer had names on them just numbers? The only downside to these is that they are very small bottles but if you like a color enough it's only $1 so you can get multiples.

China Glaze Coconut Kiss

Coconut Kiss is a shimmery violet purple. It's a beautiful purple that looks better on the nails than in the bottle I think.

That's it for today. I can tell you right now I'm really into cremes right now! What are colors or finishes are you into this season?

Peace!
