Models Own Indian Ocean

Let's face it I'm impulsive at times. I saw press releases of these new Models Own Beetlejuice colors, and it was an instant "Need!". I ordered two of them Tropical Sun and Indian Ocean. I love that these were duochrome-like colors with a more summery-flair. Here is Indian Ocean.

Indian Ocean over Revlon Coastal Surf

Indian Ocean is a sheer baby blue with a hot pink shimmer that shifts to purple and gold.

Let's all be honest here. This is absolutely ridiculously sheer alone. Honestly, unless you have magic nails, magic polish skills, or are some magical creature you're going to see your nail through this polish after 3-4 coats.  I don't mean visible nail line either. I mean your entire nail. If you don't mind that look that's fine, but I know a lot of people do not care for that. This does look beautiful layered though. Outside of the sheer factor, I think this polish is beautiful and unique.

I got this on the Models Own site. The polish itself is not overly pricey, but the shipping was over $20. In hindsight, I wish I would of found another option to purchase this. It's a beautiful polish, but it's not all that!

Happy Thursday!

  1. It's kind of like Sinful Colors 'Cinderella' on crack. I like it! But $20 for shipping miiiiiiight just be a teensy bit much. Still pretty, though!

  3. I was thinking it reminded me a lot of Sinful Colors "Cinderella" too. Do you know how they compare? (Seems hot pink vs baby  pink on the shimmer...)

  8. That shimmer is gorgeous! I still haven't used any of the first round of Beeteljuice that I swapped for; I think I should do that before I start looking at these new ones.

  16. For the future, check out Harlow & Co. It's a Canadian site but shipping was much more reasonable than Models (BTDT!!) Here's the link www.harlowandco.org They were out of stock for awhile, but I just got the new trio and it's in the mail to me :D

  22. This new trio of duochromes is definitely on my radar but I refuse to buy anything from the Models Own website ever again after the experience I had with them previously. And their shipping cost is borderline ridiculous. Thank goodness there are domestic options for these polishes now. ^_^

  23. I've been trying to figure out what to put under the super sheer (so black isn't a very good option) duo and multichromes to make them show up the best. So far, my experimentation has not produced many good results.
