Last week I received and wonderful and unexpected email. I received an email from the PR manager at Neiman Marcus Orlando. She told me she enjoyed my blog, and wanted me to come in because she had a bottle of Chanel Peridot polish for me.
I have to be honest, I was really surprised. My blog has always just been fun for me. I never intended it to be anything fancy or special, but to be recognized by Neiman Marcus was a real treat! I went into Neiman Marcus the next day, and met with Andrea, the PR manager. She took the time to take me downstairs, and show me all the new fall collections in the cosmetics department.
It was truly wonderful. There are a lot of beautiful colors for fall. What I noticed is the fall colors seem to be rich burgundies, deep blues, and lavish teals. The store was beautiful. I'm familiar with Neiman Marcus. I was born and raised in Dallas, where the department store originated. My dad and I on Sundays would go to the farmers market and then stop by the first Neiman Marcus to walk around. They're definitely beautiful and luxurious stores!
On to nail polish!
Chanel Peridot
Peridot is olive green-golden multi-chrome shimmer.
When I saw previous swatches of this color, I was floored by the amazing finish on this, but I was worried about the color. Yellow-greens tend to not play nice with me. I'm over it, this color is beautiful! I love the gold in this. You never know exactly what color you're going to get depending on the I light. I noticed indoors under bright light the gold pops out more. In the shade outdoors the green pops out more. It's magic in a bottle!
I'm typically not one to spend the money on higher end brands, but having the opportunity to view a lot of these up close, I was able to see the appeal of them. The pigmentation in these polishes is amazing. The polishes that had shimmer or glitter, you can tell the materials used were top notch. They did not look like your run of the mill shimmers. I was so impressed, I ended up purchasing a Yves Saint Laurent polish from their fall collection. I don't have the budget to fill my stash with a lot of these beauties, but I definitely see myself saving up for some more in the future.
I want to thank Andrea, for the polish and taking the time to show me around the store. You definitely made this bloggers' day!
***This nail polish was provided to me by Neiman Marcus****

ReplyDeleteThis color looks great on you by the way, so pretty!
I have never really had a desire for any Chanel polishes but this one is fab!
ReplyDeletewow! Sounds like an amazing experience! I still dont care for Peridot but I would totally take a guided tour of a Neiman Marcus :)
ReplyDeleteWow what a nice treat! Somehow, my whole name is showing up on these Disqus things-how to I change it to Fingers with a link to my blog? I don't get how to change it-can you help me? It's not even showing my profile pic! I hope you got my email!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're so lucky to get this! It's fabulous! I love it! Maybe I'll save some money and get in September! It's total LOVE!
ReplyDeleteOh WOW Stephanie! Such a cool thing to have happen - and a nice belated birthday gift as well!!! I'm impressed that Andrea was checking out local blogs and so happy that she chose you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you, there's NO way I could afford one of these babies knowing that I could purchase multiple bottles of other brands for the same amount - BUT sometimes you have to treat yourself - and sometimes let someone else treat YOU!
Stephanie, that is SO freaking cool! What a nice treat. I think this looks fantastic on you!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Wow
ReplyDeleteSo fun that you got to try this from Neiman Marcus! And I keep being on the fence about this color but it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteTHat is so cool! Plus, this color is unbelievably pretty on you. Way to go! :)
ReplyDeleteOH GOSH this is simply out of this world beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this color, and I didn't think it would look very nice on me either. Glad you like it! :-)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't know how you can log into DISQUS with your blog name and a link to your blog. I think it depends on what you log into and what name is attached to it. I know if you don't log into anything you have the option of logging in as a guest and putting the name you want to show. I did not get your email. My email is imperfectlypainted@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was really pleasantly surprised. I totally get it, the higher price tag polishes are a difficult pill to swallow. It is definitely a treat to get some of these. I only have a few higher end polishes, but they are some of my favorites. I think that's what makes them extra special is that they really are considered "treats" to me since they are not my common purchases.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteAw thank you, Shaina. I really appreciate that. :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful polish, love it.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh! How nice!! Peridot does look great on you too. I'm looking forward to your review of the YSL polish.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That sounds like such a fun experience, and you're totally deserving! Also, Peridot looks stunning with your skin tone. How was the formula? I've heard Chanel polishes are notoriously finicky.
ReplyDeleteAhh~ I am also in love with this. I bought this and I fell in love with it immediately. I have some swatches on my blog as well :D Definitely following ;)
ReplyDeleteI like it on you, too. Maybe your mom will spring for another NM nail polish!
ReplyDeleteLucky you. You have agreat blog so you definately deserve to be recognised. And the Pridot looks fantastic on you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! You definitely deserve all the best! This color looks great on you. I still haven't purchased any high ends polishes myself...I always think for one Chanel, I could get 3 Zoyas lol.
ReplyDeleteLove this!! I've been thinking about getting this polish since I saw it at the mall. Now you have confirmed for me that I need it. I got it yesterday and I can't wait to use it!
ReplyDeletegorgeous! I wish I had it, my birthstone is a peridot!
