JulieG Santorini

I've griped about the lack of great drugstore polish a lot lately. I think in recent years the best selection of drugstore nail polishes I have found has been at Rite Aid. The problem is, I don't have a Rite Aid in Florida. I had all my Rite Aid adventures in California last year.

I'd have to say my favorite drugstore polish brand of all time is JulieG which is only carried at Rite Aid. I can't even. The good news is that you can purchase the JulieG brand online, but that does take all the shopping fun out if it sadly. This was one of the colors I picked up last year that I recently re discovered it's greatness!

Santorini
Santorini is a light periwinkle blue creme/shimmer (I'll get into that in a moment)

Collection: JulieG Cruise Collection Summer 2014

Color: I need more blues like this in my life. The aqua light blues really get done a lot in nail polish, but I prefer more of the light blues like this. This is a great color. It's pigmented, soft, and just pops against your nails. There is a teensy bit of shimmer in this that is visible in the bottle, but I can't really see it on the nail at all.

Formula: I love JulieG formulas. They're are smooth, easy to apply, self level, and just my favorite formulas when it comes to drugstore polish. This polish did not disappoint.

Price: This is $3.99 and can be found on the Jesse's Girl website.

Overall: I love Santorini. This is a definite staple in my nail polish collection. It's a color that every nail polish lover should have and it's just all around great polish.

ILNP Happily Ever After

I think I've discovered my favorite finish of nail polish. I absolutely am in love with glittery holographics. You know the ones made by indies that are holographic, but have either added glitters or flakies into them that make them super duper unicorn magical? Those are to die for beautiful. It's taking two of my favorite things holo and glittery sparkle and merging them into one. This was a fairly new concept to me that was introduced to me in Spring by ILNP with 2 of her polishes in her spring collection. I have one of those to show you today.

Happily Ever After
Happily Ever After is a soft lilac holo with silver glittery flakes mixed in.

Collection: ILNP Spring 2015

Color: See what I mean? Those silver flakes elevate the bling factor in the already awesome holo! This color is beautiful. It's soft and delicate, but it has amazing sparkle.

Formula: Excellent easy to use formula. I used 3 coats here.

Price: This is $10 on the ILNP website.

Overall: This is one of those nail polishes I'm just not sure what else I can really say about it. The image speaks for itself. This is a stunning nail polish. I love the holo sparkle. I love everything about it.

Northern Star Mermaid Dream

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

I have another Cosmoprof goodie for you today. This one is made my Northern Star Polish. Unfortunately, this particular polish was an exclusive for the Cosmoprof event. I wanted to share it with you anyways so you get an idea of what Northern Star has to offer and what I think about the product.

Mermaid Dream
Mermaid Dream is a muted teal holo with some teal glitters.

Collection: Cosmoprof 2015 Exclusive

Color: Mermaid Dream is beautiful and dusty shade of teal. I love dusty shades and it's something I've been really craving in nail polish lately. This is a gorgeous and flattering color. The holo effect is beautiful and I love the touch of the teal glitters.

Formula: Do you ever try a new nail polish and from first swipe of your brush on your nail you know it's a winner? There is a difference in my world from a good formula and spectacular one. This is one of the best formulas I've ever tried. The formula is creamy, smooth, and applies effortlessly. A spectacular formula stands out because I rarely need to do any cleanup afterwards on my nail. This formula is perfection.

Price: This particular polish isn't available for purchase, but you can check out the rest of Northern Star's stock on their etsy site. The polishes run between $8.50-$9.00.

Overall: Mermaid Dream blew me away. It is so well made. I did not doubt it at all, but you get used to how some polishes perform formula wise. That becomes you new norm and standard, until one with a formula like this comes along and it blows your mind. This color is stunning. The formula is one of the best ever. Northern Star Polish will definitely be a brand I will be shopping from in the future.

KBShimmer Sun & Games

We've made it to September, and I still have summer nail polish to share with you. I know it's still technically summer, but once September hits I'm done with summer. The weather outside may not dictate that yet, but I'm moving on! Well, with the exception of some summer nail polishes....This one is from KBShimmer's recent summer collection.

Pssst! Go check out some some blogs from yesterday to see KBShimmer's fall collection releasing soon. I'll have swatches of those for you next week!

Sun & Games
Sun & Games is a gold holographic micro glitter.

Collection: KBShimmer Summer Collection 2015

Color: I am a big sucker for gold glitters, and even more so gold holographic glitters. Gold isn't the ideal color me, but I wear and love it anyways! This is a gorgeous yellow-toned gold and the bling factor is intense!

Formula: This has a smooth and easy to apply formula. I used 3 coats here. You can still see a bit of my nail underneath in this photo, but in real life I cannot detect this at all. The sparkle is just so strong it's undetectable.

Price: This is $8.75 on the KBShimmer website.

Overall: This is a fantastic golden holo glitter bomb! The formula is great, and it is wonderfully sparkly!
