Orly Digital Glitter

Has anyone else been disappointed by the mainstream brand fall collections? I have found many of them to be so dull and repetitive. Yawn.

Orly went ahead and did something entirely different for fall with the Surreal collection. The colors in this collection are soft shades and rich shades, with some fun glitters and shimmers in the mix. It is a eclectic mix for fall, but it works, and it's truly nice to see something different. I have Digital Glitter from that collection to share with you today.

Digital Glitter over Cult Nails Nevermore

Digital Glitter is a duochrome glitter with holographic glitters mixed in a clear base.

Color: This is an interesting one. You know Orly Space Cadet? The color of the glitter in this is exactly Space Cadet, just in glitter form. The glitter does have a cool duochrome effect that I could not pick up on camera. I really like this one, it's very cool and unexpected for glitter!

Formula: This is sheer. You have to layer this one. I used 3 coats over a base here.

Price: I paid around $8.00 for this at Ulta.

Overall: This a cool glitter mix. I've never really seen a duochrome glitter like this in a mainstream brand before. It's fun and unique and I like it. My only beef is I wish this was full coverage glitter. The sheerness of it lowers it a bit for me.

Way-Cool Mani Wednesday- My Name in Polish

Some people wish for their name in lights, I'm just happy with my name in polish. Ok, well my name in polish isn't intentional towards me, but I like it just the same!

How many of you have a polish with your first name in? I'm sure there are quite a few of you, but how many people have a polish with their last name in it?

I have both! I don't mean that to sound boastful, it's just pretty cool.

My name is Stephanie Merlin. Yes, my real last name is Merlin just like the wizard. No relation, unfortunately (hehe). I used to hate my last name because everyone would make a big deal out of it. Now, I think it's flipping awesome. It's the kind of name if I get married, I'm sorry tradition, I'm keeping my cool last name!

Anyways, so what polishes sport my name?

Zoya Stephanie and a-england Merlin

I decided for this Way-Cool Wednesday to sport my namesake in polish! I think that's way-cool, huh (hopefully not egotistical)?

Polishes Used: Zoya Stephanie & a-england Merlin

Manicure Description: Went pretty simple here. I painted my thumb, index, and pinky with Zoya Stephanie and painted my middle and ring finger with a-england Merlin.

I had fun with this. It's so simple, but it's just so fun to be able to wear my name in polish. It's probably a bit corny, but I love it!

Anyone else out there who has their first and last name in a polish?

Zoya PixieDust Sunshine

Who else hauled like mad with Zoya's last BOGO sale? This is the only time I haul Zoya. I picked up 12 polishes, and I pretty much took care of all of lemmings from the past summer and fall collections. I definitely hauled some PixieDusts in this mix. I didn't have any PixieDusts before, so it's my first experience with them. Today, I have Sunshine to share with you.

Sunshine w/ top coat

Sunshine is a denim blue textured glitter.

Color: -Picks jaw off floor- This is flipping amazing. This is from the fall Pixiedusts collection. The color is rich and pigmented. There is the perfect amount of color and sparkle. Love.

Formula: One-coater. Not a maybe one-coater. Not a if you use a thick coat you could get away with one-coater. This is a 100% one-coater, guaranteed. How often do you hear that? Perfect formula.

Price: This is $9.00 on Zoya's website.

Overall: This is a must have. You need this.  It's already been added as a contender for my Top 20 of 2013 list. This is perfection in so many ways. Sunshine is awesome as texture and with top coat. I admit, I'm not major texture fan, but Zoya's PixieDusts has won me over. They know how to do these textured polishes right. They have the perfect mix of color and sparkle where these are not flat. The texture is fine and not lumpy or bumpy. Amazing. Go buy this, please!

Shimmer Polish Jovie, Leslie, and Taylor

Jovie over Cult Nails Nevermore

Jovie over Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac

Jovie is a mix of pink opalescent glitters in a clear base.

Leslie over Cult Nails Nevemore

Leslie is a mix of periwinkle and lavender glitters in a clear base.

Taylor over Cult Nails Nevermore

Taylor is a red jelly base with red, green, and blue glitters.

Colors: Lovely mix of glitter combinations in these three polishes. I love how multi-dimensional they are. Shimmer Polishes are not one flat color glitter polishes, they have multiple color glitters in them that make them stand out. It's hard to choose a favorite here!

Formula: I didn't have any difficulty with any of the formulas. Leslie is a little chunkier than the other two, but it still applied nicely. I used 2 coats for each swatch. I do recommend using a base with these as it allows you to use less coats to build up the glitter.

Price: These polishes are $12 and can be found on etsy. You can also purchase through Shimmer Polish directly via email. There are directions on her site on how to do so.

Overall: Jovie, Leslie, and Taylor are all awesome and unique glitter mixes. I love them!

Manicure Description: This manicure is inspired by the beach. To make the beach sand effect, I dabbed a light brown polish (I used an Etude House nail polish but I don't what its name is) over OPI Pussy Galore which is my one and only textured polish (Well, hate me). Then I painted a heart shaped line on my accent nail with a darker brown polish (I used Etude House Ice Cream Nails BR401). Last, I dabbed some different blue polishes with sponge to make the wave and when it dried I dabbed white polish to make the foam. I skipped top coat for this manicure.
