Zoya Goodies & Scary Statues

Before I get into the Zoya goodies. I have to talk about scary statues briefly. My BF and I late at night watch sci-fi series. We've watched all of the Star Trek series and we moved on to Doctor Who.This show is about time travel and has sci-fi aspects. I really enjoy it. If there are scarier elements it's usually balanced out with some silliness and humor, so it's all good. I don't do scary. Well, there was this one episode last night that was pure scary. I won't give it away but it had to do with these really creepy/terrifying  "weeping angel" statues moving around when you weren't looking changing their face expressions into absolutely terrifying demon-like ones. It was AWFUL. No sleep for me. Blech. Scary and I don't sit well. I'll live though, but I have no interest in seeing statues anytime soon.

On to Zoya goodies which equal happiness! This is just a recent haul of Zoya's I got during the Halloween special where you got 3 extra colors with an order and their BOGO free sale. Enjoy the pretties!

Danielle, Gigi, Tiffany, & Gloria

Gabrielle, Milla, Maura, & Gilda

Ivanka, Akyra, Edyta, Tallulah, & Raven

Delilah, Savita (this color is absolutely amazing), Valerie, & Trixie

Those are the goodies I got. I will be posting swatches of these in the upcoming days and weeks. I was happy with my selection. I have difficult time picking out Zoyas because I can only purchase them online. I find Scrangie's collection of Zoya swatches to be VERY helpful.

That's all for today!

Have a happy and creepy statue free Wednesday!

UPS Rant

This is a non-nail polish related angry rant at UPS. If you don't want to read me rant about UPS, you probably don't want to read this. GRRRRRR

Ok, so UPS has seriously lost their mind. I had ordered some Bath & Body Works products a week ago and they shipped them UPS. I correctly listed my address. I always check this to make sure. It was being sent UPS and yesterday it said it was "Out for Delivery". Yay! I love getting pacakges..but no...

Around 5:30pm the status updated to "EXCEPTION- UPS is looking for the correct street address". So, I'm like WTF? I checked the invoice again, and the address is listed correctly. I've lived in the same exact address for almost 4 years and I get 2-3 packages from UPS a month without any problems. I live in an apartment complex which I can understand makes things more confusing, but this has NEVER been an issue ever. I've always received my packages.

I call the UPS center here and explained my situation.  I verified the address with the lady and she said that is what is listed in the computer and she would call the driver. I know for sure that even before a package is mailed through the UPS system the address has to be confirmed as an accurate address. My Dad has a business and uses UPS to ship and he verified this too through his system with my address to make sure. Everything was correct. The lady on the phone said she'd call me right back.

2 hours later... I get a call from the person at UPS telling me the same driver who has serviced this area for 10 years cannot find my address. He was in the apartment...he found my apartment number, but said it wasn't in the building it was supposed to be in? There are no other buildings in this complex with my apartment number.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. I went outside and checked my building and address number..nothing has changed. Did I slip into another dimension? Am I in a episode of Twilight Zone, Doctor Who, Star Trek, or Candid Camera? I love how UPS talks to me as if I'm the one who has lost my mind. How can a driver who I've had visit my apartment to deliver packages almost 100 times in 4 years not be able to find my apartment anymore?

I have a feeling UPS is lying to me. I think either this was a different driver OR the driver wanted to leave early so he put in that he couldn't find the address.... They are going to try and re-deliver today. I had to give them more specific direction. What floor I was on...what side of the building I was on..really? We'll see...I just know if this was nail polish I'd be way more pissed off....

What gives UPS?

We'll see if it's a "Happy Tuesday!" :P

Milani Dress Maker

Milani Dress Maker is a color that came in the Haute Value Collection in summer. This is said to be dupe of Chanel Jade. I think I've only bought into higher end polish hype once with Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe. It was well worth it! No regrets! I've never been moved by another other high-end colors. It has to be super amazing, non-dupable, and non-frankenable for me to really want it. When you're on a budget you have to be picky! That is just me though.

I never bought into the Chanel Jade craze because lighter greens tend to look pretty bad on me. I did however buy into the Milani Dress Maker is a dupe to Chanel Jade hype. I guess there is an appeal of having a dupe to a $20+ shade. You feel like you accomplished something buy saving a ton of money. I couldn't find this in stores so I bought this online. I wanted it that bad. Unfortunently, as beautiful as this shade is, it definitely is not my color!

Dress Maker

Dress Maker is a jade/mint yellow toned light green with a subtle green shimmer.

There is no denying how beautiful this shade is. It just clashes with my skin horribly. At least I think so. Blech. Greens and I already have a rocky relationship, so it doesn't completely surprise me. Oh well!

Speaking of Milani...have you noticed Milani hasn't released a new nail polish collection in a couple months? Milani was cranking out new collections in summer. I can think of at least 5 collections released over the summer by them. I haven't see anything since. I'd love a holiday or winter collection by them. They always release really great shades. Milani if you're listening you have a customer who wants a winter or holiday collection!

Happy Monday!

China Glaze VII & Tags

Hey everyone! Ugh, this week has been full of work for me. I've been working on a research paper that is due tomorrow. I'll be happy to be done. I've also had to deal with some car issues. The computer in my car is malfunctioning. It's basically turning on warning lights on the dashboard when there is nothing wrong. I'm eventually going to need to replace the computer,  but as of now it doesn't seem to be an immediate issue. The computer part for a car is super expensive though...bleh. Anyways, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite fall shades.

China Glaze VII

VII is a dark eggplant/aubergine creme.

This is a dark shade, but it definitely reads as purple on your nails not black. I love this shade. This one has got a lot of use out of me. It's that perfect fall/winter creme.

I was also tagged for a few awards recently. I got the "One Lovely Blog" award from Tara of "For Your Nails Only" & Melanie from "The Color Palette"

I also got this award from necessary nails with a questionnaire.

1. Why did you create the blog?
I debated making this blog for probably a year. I felt there were so many polish blogs why would anyone read mine? I just on the spot decided to start it one day. I have all this polish and people in my daily life really could careless about nail polish, but I know others out there share this same love. This blog has been a nice getaway for me and great way to meet like-minded others.
2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
I mainly follow nail polish blogs, drugstore makeup blogs, and a few food blogs.
3. Do you have a favorite make-up brand?
I use so many different brands I don't have an actual favorite. I probably have a favorite for each category of makeup though. I do seem to use a lot of Bare Escentuals and Maybelline products.
4. And a favorite clothing brand?
Same thing with the makeup. I'm not brand specific.
5. What make-up products is essential for you?
Foundation, eyeliner, & mascara.
6. What's your favorite colour?
I love turquoises, reds, and golds.
7. What's your favorite perfume?
My favorite was Victoria Secret "So In Love" but they don't make that anymore. I also like Stella McCartney "Stella", L'Occitaine "Roses 4 Reins", and Woods of Windsor "Forget Me Not".
8. What's the film you liked the most?
Lots. Contact, The Sound of Music, Spirited Away, National Lampoon Vacation, Sister Act movies, & Lord of the Rings...wacky mix
9. What countries would you like to go?
All the countries in Western Europe.
Thank you lovely ladies for tagging me for these awards!
I unfortunately do not have the time to go through and tag different people for this award.  I think these awards have been going around for awhile, so I don't want to re-tag people. I tag anyone who would like to have these awards or do this questionnaire!

Happy Sunday!

Sinful Colors Rise & Shine

This next color is another color I passed up on many times at the drugstore. When I finally purchased it and put it on, I had one of those "doh!" moments. I wish I had realized how amazing this color was sooner. Again, I'm a definite fan of Sinful Colors. Great selection of colors for an amazing price.

Rise & Shine

Rise & Shine is a bright leaning toward neon teal with a subtle silvery shimmer.

Fantastic color! This is bright, but it's not blinding. The subtle shimmer is a great touch. This polish is creamy and applies like butter. Perfection. A great polish color, amazing application, and dirt cheap! I love teals. I think these types of colors look great on all types of skin tones.

Happy Saturday!
