Nina Ultra Pro Cobalt & Comparison

I'm going to declare that my favorite color is cobalt blue. I think I've almost purchased every cobalt blue nail polish out there. I cannot get enough of this color. I think what draws me to that color is how it is both rich and bright at the same time. It just makes me happy. Since it's Monday, and Mondays are rather blah, I will share a cobalt blue I picked up recently. Cobalt=happy. I am implanting that in your minds. Whenever your see cobalt blue you will feel happy. I'm so weird.

Nina Ultra Pro Cobalt

Cobalt is well... a cobalt blue jelly!

Yeah, this is a amazing.

The end.

Just kidding! As you can see Nina Ultra Pro has changed their bottles, this includes the brushes. You know the brushes in the new Wet n' Wild Megalast bottles? They have the same brushes in these. They are really wide. Personally, I have trouble with these brushes, but some people like them. I was willing to compromise for this amazing color. After the fact, I figured I'd get some questions about how this compares to other blue jellies, so I did a comparison swatches on nail wheel below using Revlon Royal, Nina Ultra Pro Cobalt, and China Glaze Ride the Waves. (click to enlarge)

No dupes here!

This color is beautiful. It is bright and rich. The formula I thought was great too. Awesome blue. I have no complaints, other than the brush isn't my cup of tea. I got this at Sally Beauty Supply. It's in the core line!

Happy Monday!

Nina Ultra Pro Say Cheese + Tag

In stark contrast to yesterday's fall-like post today's nail polish will be full of the brightness of summer. Yesterday even though it was hot ended up being a torrential downpour day. One of the things I do have a love/hate relationship with in summer is the stormy afternoons we have in Florida. It's love or hate depending on if I'm home or out. If I'm out it's definitely a hate thing. Yesterday, I had some errands to do with my boyfriend and I was determined to beat the rain. When we left the house it was sunny with a few clouds, but I never let that fool me. On our last errand the sky went from partly cloudy to almost as black as night with the wind howling. Mission failed. I thought I could make it home in time, but mother nature had other plans. I think we got the brunt of the rain while driving home. We got home safely and of course within 5 minutes of being home the rain stops. :P

I love the storms when I'm home. You'd think the rain would cool things off, but it doesn't. It never rains that long so even if it cools the temperatures down the sun comes back out and heats up the icky moisture left in the air from the rain and it's like being in a sauna. Ok, I really went off on a tangent there! Sorry. :)

Say Cheese
Say Cheese is a bright neon warm-toned pink with slight silvery shimmer throughout. I really love this shade. This past summer I think I went a bit overboard on wearing cremes. I'm a little bored buy cremes right now, so this neon shade plus the shimmer is exactly up my alley these days! This went on nicely with 3 coats. Plus, it was $2 in the clearance section at Sallys, so I can't argue!

Next up I got this lovely Sweet Friends award from Katrina & Necessary Nails! Thank you. :)

Well Don't You look Familiar?

So, I have done it again. It is inevitable at this point. I got a dupe of a polish color I already have. I think this can be the most frustrating part about looking for polish. I mean you can't bring your whole collection with you to compare colors and it doesn't make sense to take photos of every single one of your polishes and take those with you. I don't think my phone would hold that much data! I think it's an unavoidable dilemma unless you have an amazing photographic memory.

Anyways, in this very rare instance I'm actually glad I found this dupe. It is a Nina Ultra Pro polish that I got on sale at Sally's for $2. I'm not just happy because of the price. I'm happy because it's a dupe of one my most favorite colors of all time.  It doesn't surprise me why I was attracted to it enough to purchase it.

Nina Ultra Pro- Tickle Me Pink
Ok, Tickle Me Pink, is hardly a pink. I'd definitely consider this more of a lighter red-coral loaded with gold shimmer. Red + gold shimmer = instant love for me. It is a gorgeous color!!!

Can you guess this color's twin?....

.....

.....

Zoya Elke
Pretty close huh? It's not an dead-on dupe, but it sure is close. If I had to get nit picky I'd say Tickle Me Pink is smidge lighter and has smidge less sparkle than Elke. I'm not complaining though. Zoya Elke is my all time favorite Zoya. I think even requested in my blog about it awhile back that they should rename this one Stephanie :P. Tickle Me Pink is a nice addition to my collection as a back up for Elke. Plus, I paid $2 for as opposed to $7 Zoya price so how could I go wrong?

Have you ever unknowingly found a dupe of a color you love?

Happy Friday!
