Northern Star, Blue-Eyed Girl, and Darling Diva Destination Trio (2 of 3)

* I received the following products in exchange for my honest review.

Well, this is more like a duo for today than a trio. Darling Diva's addition to this trio got delayed in the mail to me, so I don't have that polish yet. I wanted to post what I had since it's being released today! I will update this post with swatches and updated review when I receive it later on.

This is the May Destination Trio that is made up of polishes from Darling Diva, Northern Star, and Blue-Eyed Girl. This trio is inspired by Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. Read on for swatches and information on how you can purchase this trio!

Northern Star Make A Wish
Make A Wish is a stormy blue creme with turquoise micro flakes and a smattering of charcoal flecks. (2 coats)

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Moon Glow
Moon Glow is sunny yolky yellow packed with rose, blue, and purple microflakies. (3 coats)

Darling Diva Undomestic Diva
Undomestic Diva is a deep raspberry pink holo with silver holo mircroglitters.  It goes from deep and vampy to light and sparkly like the lights it took it inspiration from. The Polish took its name as a nod to Peggy from Married With Children since the fountain is featured in the opening scenes from every episode. (2 coats)

Collection: May Destination Trio 2016

Colors: I love the boldness and richness of these shades. It's a nice departure from the typical summer colors out there. I also love the fun finishes. It's nice to see indies dabbling in shimmers and flakie glitters. I really love Moon Glow. I'm not usually a yellow polish person, but this one is so unique and different from any other yellow I own.

Formula: These all had excellent formulas. Northern Star always has buttery and smooth formulas that apply beautifully. Moon Glow had a superb formula for a yellow. It was not streaky or uneven in the least. Darling Diva's Undomestic Diva was a thicker formula but was easily manageable.

Price: This trio is $30 shipped domestically or $30 with a prorated shipping rate internationally. It is available now in Darling Diva's, Northern Star's, and Blue-Eyed Girl's shops.

Overall: This is a unique and bold collection. I love the inspiration and how it's doing something different in the midst of a sea of summer neons. These polishes are thoughtfully made and beautiful.

Darling Diva Amer I Can!

Happy Memorial Day to everyone in the USA. I hope you all are having a nice day. I have a patriotic polish to share with you today by Darling Diva. This is one of the polishes I received in on of the Mystery Grab bags offered on Darling Diva's site. I love grab bags with indies. Sometimes I find can't settle on polishes to buy from an indie, so grab bags are perfect. They're usually reasonably priced and you can get a lot of bang for your buck!

Amer I Can! over a medium blue creme
Amer I Can! is a mix of red, white, blue, and gold glitters in varying shapes with a subtle iridescent sparkle in a clear base.

Collection: Darling Diva Pageant Collection September 2014

Color: I love patriotic glitter mixes. This one is awesome. I love the mix of colors and I love that added gold glitter. It's unexpected but really adds a nice touch to the overall look.

Formula: Excellent formula. These glitters applied so easily to the nail. I didn't have to dig or fish for glitters at all. I didn't need to dab the glitter for it to stick. It applied easy breezy! I used 2 coats over a base.

Price: N/A. Sadly, this one is no longer available, but I did get in a grab bag so it's a possibility to get on that one. Darling Diva Mystery Grab Bags are currently on sale for $20 and  you get 5 polishes!

Overall: I love fun glitters like Amer I Can! I love the mix of stars and other shaped glitters in this mix. It's the perfect patriotic glitter. I appreciate the addition of gold glitter in this mix and I especially love the excellent formula.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 5/22/16-5/29/16

It has been a fairly good wax week. I'm definitely finding myself craving summer scents lately. I love fruity scents, but I'm incredibly picky about them. I hate sugary sweet candy scents, and I find a lot of fruity scents can go that direction. I prefer the more natural fruity scents or fruity drink scents (granted they don't get too sugary). It can be a lot of trial and error in finding the right fruity scents, but I did have some success this week.
Ten Digit Creations Fruit Slices
Scent Description: orange, grapefruit, strawberry, melon, peach, kiwi, and sugar crystals
My Thoughts: This is scent is fruity perfection. I love the blend of fruits in this scent blend and I don't find the sugar crystals aspect to take into a sickly sweet direction. This has a really nice natural tart and sweet fruit blend that has a nice throw. It reminds me a bit of a fruit punch type scent, but not a specific brand of fruit punch.
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Better Homes & Gardens Sun Washed Poppies
Scent Description: An intriguing floral, fruity blend that opens with notes of sweet apple, pink raspberry and white pepper. A playful heart of rose petals, jasmine, and wild poppies leads into a sensuous comforting base of sandalwood and sun-washed musk.
My Thoughts: I'm so on the fence with this scent. I'd say I like it about 80%. This is going to be such a convoluted review.  I really get the fruity and floral blend. The raspberry and poppy are most prominent. I do like this and had it melting all day, but I also don't like it. I think it's the poppy note. It's nice, but poppy can go a bit musty to me. It almost smells like an overripe peach or something. It's really not bad I swear, there is just this underlying "hmph" type thing going on if that makes any sense! I think some people will like it others will not.
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Walmart

Colonial Candle Caipirinha
Scent Description: Sip on Brazil's most popular cocktail with notes of sugar cane rum, honey, and lime. Top: Tangy Lemon, Bergamot - Middle: Cardamom, Currant, Orange Blossom - Bottom: Vanilla Bourbon, Musk
My Thoughts:  I love citrus and I love bergamot. I especially love citrus drink blends. This one is really nice as it's very citrusy, sweet, and clean. It's not too sweet and is a really refreshing blend. The throw on this was inconsistent to me. I'd get a strong whiff of it here and there, but other times I really had to try to smell it.
Scent Throw: 2.5/5
Where To Buy: Colonial Candle

Wilma's Fabuloso Type
Scent Description: Just like the lavender household cleaner. So good and so strong!
My Thoughts: I hate artificial scents (when it comes to artificial fruits and etc.), but I do love chemically laden smelling cleaning product scents. This smells exactly like Fabuloso and I love the smell of a freshly cleaned house with bleach and other chemically ridden cleaning products. This is awesome and the scent description is right it is strong, but in a good clean way. I did not find it overpowering. If you like cleaning product smell you'll like this, otherwise, stay away. In fact, I think this is a dupe to ScentSationals Lavender Glow
Scent Throw: 5/5

L.A. Colors Ever After

Another brand I've had my eye on lately in stores L.A. Colors, in particular, their Color Last line. I've only seen this line at Walmart and it has a good range of maybe around 15-20 colors. The cost of them is only $1.98 per polish so that's a steal. I saw this shimmery purple shade last time and decided to check it out.

Ever After
Ever After is a sheer lavender packed with golden-purple-pink shimmer.

Collection: L.A. Colors Color Last Core

Color: I love this soft purple shade, but it's that intense shimmer that sold it for me. I love shimmers that really light up within a polish. I also really love the softness of this shade. It's shimmery, but it's still delicate.

Formula: I wasn't sure when I bought this if would be sheer or not, but it a sheer polish. That being said, this built up to this opacity in 3 coats. You may need a 4th if you have longer nails. The formula on this was superb. I absolutely love the brushes in this polish as they really pack in the polish and apply so smoothly.

Price: $1.98 at Walmart.

Overall: I was expecting to be disappointed with the sheerness and softness of this shade, but I actually really love it. I really like the softer look, especially with the shimmer. The formula on this was amazing and I really love this line of polishes.

Fresh Paint Sandy Toes

One of the brands I've been frequenting since Five Below arrived near me is Fresh Paint. I really like this brand. I've reviewed a few over the past few months and I like all of them. I notice that Five Below does get new colors on occasion, but I don't think these actually come in collections? They're displayed in individual buckets at the store. This one caught my eye on my last visit.

Sandy Toes
Sandy Toes is a hot coral red creme.

Collection: N/A

Color: I love coral reds and orange-reds in summer. This color definitely fits that bill. This color is hot, vibrant, and pigmented. You can't go wrong with a color this on your tips or toes during summer.

Formula: This had an excellent and easy to apply formula. I used 2 coats.

Price: Fresh Paint polishes are buy 3 for $5, otherwise I think they're $2 each or something? It's best to find 3 you like and just pay $5!

Overall: I'm going to use my favorite word with nail polish lately..."solid". This is a definite solid staple coral red creme shade. The color is great, the formula is awesome, and the price you can't beat. I love finding great polishes in stores.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

New Sephora Store at Disney Springs

*I received a gift card from Sephora to purchase the items in this post. My experiences and opinions are my own.

I had the pleasure to do something a little different yesterday for Imperfectly Painted. I was contacted by Sephora to check out their new Disney Springs location in Orlando, FL. Disney Springs was formerly Downtown Disney and has been going through renovations over the past few years to add more stores and restaurants. What's great about Disney Springs is there is no admission fee and the parking is free!  They recently opened up their own Sephora in the Disney Springs new Town Center area. Sephora kindly sent me gift card so I could check out their new store and pick up some new goodies!

This is the new Sephora location at Disney Springs, The location is 5,785 sq ft. and features all of your tried and true brands Sephora offers. They have over 13,000 products from over 200 brands. I noticed that this store was a tad bit smaller than the Sephora's I've visited at mall locations, but it still is a very substantial store. This store offers everything from cosmetics, hair care, fragrance, and skincare. The store is a brightly lit, open, and I loved the layout. The store was fairly busy, but did not feel packed and it was easy to navigate.
I loved this little beauty studio area I have in the picture above. When I was there they were offering a little 30-40 min class on brows. They also have one-on-one free consultations with their beauty advisers and mini makeovers. They offer here their Color IQ technology that helps match your skin tone to foundations and concealers, their Skincare IQ which finds your custom skincare recommendations, and Fragrance IQ which finds fragrance recommendations based on your preferences. Finally, they offer customized makeovers with an expert artist for 45 minutes with a $50 minimum purchase.
I had to check out the nail area of course! I did find they had a smaller collection of nail polish than the store at the mall, but they still had plenty to choose from. They had their Sephora Formula X line which I absolutely love. They also had a small collection of Nails Inc, Ciate, and Deborah Lippmann nail polishes. This limited edition. Disney Minnie Beauty by Sephora Collection fits in perfectly at this Disney Springs location. I also really love their "Beauty On The Fly" section near the checkout travel/trial sized items of some of their best selling products. It's hard not to be tempted by this section!
I went into Sephora with a mission. I really wanted to find some staple products for my makeup routine. I have enough eye shadow, blush, lipstick, and all of that fun stuff. I really wanted some skincare, a BB cream, a nail polish, and highlighters. I was helped by some amazing staff there. Michael, Rosanna, and Grace all helped me find products that suited my needs and tested them on my skin. The service there was top notch. Everyone was always very willing to help you, answer questions, and spend time with you.

Here is a closer look at the products I picked out. Sephora also sent me that great makeup bag (pictured above) to hold all of my new goodies!
Sephora Formula X in Euphoria from the Black Quartz Collection: I had two other colors from this collection and love the mix of black and pink glitter in Euphoria.

First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum:  I have very sensitive skin with redness. I find my redness really gets worse in summer with the heat. I tried this on in store and it really helped calm down my skin!

Dr. Jart+ Dis-A-Pore Beauty Balm: I don't like to wear a lot of makeup when it comes to foundation. I find it can be too heavy, so a BB cream is perfect. I was looking for something that could give me a light coverage, but didn't get wear off easily in the summer heat. I tried this one on my skin along with some other BB creams, and the Dr. Jart+ was my favorite. This one works for combo/oily skin, helps minimize pores, and has SPF 30!

Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Luminizers: I want some glow in summer and I loved both of these luminzers. I got the two shades they had available, Stardust (a pale golden glow) and Light Beam (a soft rose gold glow). What I liked about these is they offer a radiant and luminous glow without anything glittery or chunky.

I really enjoyed my experience at Sephora Disney Springs! What I think is great about this location is not only is it close to me (no complaints there), it's on Disney property. I know a few of my readers are local to Orlando, some of you are in Florida, but I know many of you vacation at Walt Disney World. I think you all will definitely love this location as an added bonus to your vacation and Disney experience! Why not add a little Sephora glitz and glam to your Disney Magic?

I want to thank Sephora for providing me with this fun opportunity to check out their new store. I'll definitely be back as I'm an under 10 minute drive away! This will be my new go-to Sephora location.

Happy Tuesday!

KBShimmer Summer 2016 (10 of 12)

* I received the following products in exchange for my honest review.

I have the KBShimmer Summer 2016 collection to share with you today. When I opened up these polishes I knew this collection was going to be a favorite mine. There are so many great colors and as always KBShimmer offers a lot of variety. I have 10 of the 12 polishes to share with you today. I did not get the white crellies because I don't tend to wear white crellies often, but I have the rest. These will be released on June 1st.  Let's get started!

One Night Sand
One Night Sand is copper/rose gold metallic flake with pops of holo. (2 coats)

Playing With The Buoys
Playing With The Buoys is a soft pastel sage creme with mint hues and blue undertones. (2 coats)

Good Reef!
Good Reef peachy coral with blue and pink shimmer.  (3 coats)

Ready For A Good Lime
Ready For A Good Lime is a bright pastel lime creme. (2 coats)

Along For The Tide
Along The Tide is an inky blue holo with micro flecks and color shifting shimmer. (2 coats)

How Low Can You Flamingo?
How Low Can You Flamingo is a hot flamingo pink creme. (2 coats)

That's Nude To Me
That's Nude To Me is a pinky-beige holo.

Mai Tai One On
Mai Tai One On is a soft lemonade yellow with yellow gold and green shimmer. (3 coats)

Gull, Get Real!
Gull, Get Real! is lilac grey-toned purple metallic flake with pops of holo. (2 coats(

Suit The Breeze
Suit The Breeze is a periwinkle blue with shimmery pink and violet micro flakes. (2 coats)

Colors: I think KBShimmer's summer collections are my favorite, and I think this maybe my favorite KBShimmer collection ever. I love the mix of nudes, pastels, and neons in this collection. I think the colors are perfect for summer. I also love the variety of finishes. I think the shimmers and micro flakes paired with the pastel-like colors is very original and something I've been wanting to see for a long time. The metallic flakes are stunners too!

Formula: I thought 8 of the 10 here had excellent top notch formulas. The formulas I had challenges with were Get Reef! and Mai Tai One On. I found these applied streaky and uneven. They were trickier to apply and did not have the even finish as the others.

Price: These are all going to be $9.25 each and will be on KBShimmer's website on June 1st!

Overall: I think this is an excellent collection. As far as colors go there isn't a dud in the bunch. I said it above, but I will declare this is my favorite KBShimmer collection! The formulas on Get Reef! and Mai Tai One On are not my favorite, but their uniqueness somewhat make up for it. One Night Sand is my absolute favorite polish of this collection. It's the perfect metallic nude that I see myself wearing a lot this summer. It will 100% be on my Top 25 of 2016 list. There is a spoiler for you! I also love Playing With The Buoys, Suit The Breeze, That's Nude To Me, and How Low Can You Flamingo.  I'd give it 5 golden paint splatter if it weren't for the formulas on the two tricky ones, otherwise this is a fantastic collection!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 5/15/16-5/22/16

This wasn't a great week in wax for me. I had more duds than wins. You live and you learn! That being said, even if I get duds I still like trying them out and reviewing them. I hope next week will be better especially as I have some new wax on the way to me!

Colonial Candle Juicy Watermelon
Scent Description: The ultimate summer refresher, the sweet, cooling scent of juicy watermelon.
My Thoughts: This is 100% Jolly Rancher fake watermelon scent. I hate artificial watermelon scent or flavor, it is nothing like real watermelon. It always smells so synthetic and oddly tart to me. Watermelon is not tart! Watermelon is my favorite fruit and I eat nearly everyday. I know my watermelon! Yeah, I'm pretty peeved. This is fake watermelon. Not for me.
Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Colonial Candle

Ten Digit Creations Cucumber Apple Splash
Scent Description: fresh cucumber, juicy apple, and a dash of zest
My Thoughts: This scent is really a nice blend of green apple and cucumber. It's very crisp, sweet, and strong. That being said, I find it a little too sweet and overbearing for my tastes. This smells more like it would be better suited to a bath and body care product than home fragrance. I'd prefer this in a shampoo or something.
Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Ten Digit Creations Kumquat
Scent Description: a small citrus fruit....smells like a mix between orange and grapefruit
My Thoughts: This scent I love. This is the winner this week for me. I love this citrus scent. It really is mix of orange and grapefruit. It has the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and it's very natural not synthetic in the least. I melted this after cleaning the house and it was perfect. It was fresh, clean, and inviting.
Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Colonial Candle Snowday
Scent Description: Let the snow fall outside as you bundle up with this refreshing blend of eucalyptus, mint, and dewy greens. Top - Apple, Melon, Peach, Pineapple Middle - Jasmine, Rose, Violet, Dewy Greens, Eucalyptus, Mint Leaf Bottom - Sheer Musk, Vetiver, Rosewood, Amber
My Thoughts: This smells really nice on cold. The strongest note I get are the "dewy greens" followed up my floral, fruity, and musk. I don't really get the "Snowday" theme, it doesn't smell like a winter scent.  This is a very general clean and fresh scent to me. It's nice, but it's not the best. I also could not smell this when melted at all. I think either it has a weak throw or just blended into my Glade wall plug-in scent.
Throw: 1/5
Where To Buy: Colonial Candle

HPB Presents: Neutrals & Neons Mani

I have another Hobby Polish Bloggers blog link-up to share with you today. This month's theme was "Neutrals & Neons". I love pairing neutrals and neons during the warmer months, so I was definitely on board for this theme. I ended up using some new polishes from KBShimmer's summer collection too. I will have a full review on those next week!
Polishes Used: KBShimmer How Low Can You Flamingo?, KBShimmer One Night Sand, and Noodles Nail Polish Beach Baby.

I love these colors together. You can never go wrong with hot pink! I love Noodles Beach Baby because of the nude crelly base. It's the nude crelly I own and I wish there were more out there. KBShimmer's glitter shimmer bomb One Night Sand is my new favorite nail polish for the upcoming season. It's the perfect metallic nude. Again, those KBShimmer colors I'll have a review on next week!

Check out my fellow HPB friend's manis below!

Throwbacks Week: Wet n' Wild Cost Is No Issue

Before the indie movement, it was very difficult to find awesome glitter nail polish. It was easy to find glitter toppers, but opaque glitters were rare. If someone released opaque glitters you immediately went on the nail polish hunt to find them. One of these collections was Wet n' Wild's Ice Baby collection. I have one of the polishes from that collection to share with you today.

Cost Is No Issue
Cost Is No Issue is a fine teal glitter with larger blue glitters in a clear base.

Collection: Wet n' Wild Ice Baby Holiday 2011

Color: I don't think you can ever go wrong with teal and this a gorgeous blingy one. I love the addition of the larger blue sparse glitters in here as it gives this color some dimension. This color is super blingy and I love it.

Formula: Excellent formula even after 5 years! I used 3 coats above and the formula is smooth, easy to apply, and just the right consistency. The best part is that it is full coverage.

Price: I have seen a listing for this on Amazon, so it may still be out there in some capacity online.

Overall: This was a great collection and I love this color. I love the opacity of the glitter and and the bling factor. Not much else I can add to that!

My Rating: 5 out of 5 *Golden* Paint Splatters

Throwbacks Week: Milani Pink Out Loud

I desperately need to go through my Helmers and organize my stash. I haven't had an updated nail polish spreadsheet almost 2 years. It's bad. I don't know what I have and that's a problem. When going through my Helmers for this week's throwbacks. I came across this Milani polish that was one of my favorite blast from nail polish past colors.

Pink Out Loud
Pink Out Loud is a medium pink jelly with golden glass fleck glitter.

Collection: Milani Core 2010

Color: This is a color that came out around a time when brand were doing a lot of similar pinks to this. China Glaze Strawberry Fields, Zoya Meiko, and OPI Pink Me I'm Good come to mind. I love this pink. I love the jelly finish and that glass fleck shimmer. This is one of those polishes that looked pretty in the bottle, but looked stunning on the nails.

Formula: Excellent formula that has withstood time. I used 2 coats here.

Price: I do believe some etailers and eBay still have this color for purchase.

Overall: Pink Out Loud is the type of polish I'm happy to rediscover. I do not see polishes with finishes like this anymore and they're really beautiful. I also don't see pink nail polish that often anymore either. This is a gorgeous polish and one I'll be breaking out this summer.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 *Golden* Paint Splatters
