Pure Ice True Love's Kiss

I walked into Walmart a few weeks ago with no intent to look at their beauty section. I needed kitty litter. In all honesty as I've mentioned before I have not found anything of interest when it comes to drugstore nail polish, so I don't bother looking much. On the way to the kitty litter, which happens to be near the beauty section I came across a new display of Pure Ice polishes. The collection was called Fairytale Forest and it is a new collection for winter with 8 polishes. I stopped dead in my tracks in awe of finding such a beautiful collection these days in a store! They all were gorgeous pastel shades with beautiful glass fleck like glitters in them. I had to get them all!
I have the pink one of this bunch to share with you today called True Love's Kiss.

True Love's Kiss
True Love's Kiss is a pale pink with a golden iridescent glass fleck shimmer.

Collection: Pure Ice Fairytale Forest Winter 2015

Color: This is a beautiful soft pink. I say this often, but there is a severe lack of beautiful and original pinks in nail polish these days. True Love's Kiss is beautiful and unique. I love this soft shade of pink, but we all know it's this beautiful golden iridescent shimmer that gives it the wow factor. This color is stunning.

Formula: I'd say for $1.97 nail polish this formula is pretty good. It's not great or out of this world, but it is good. The first 2 coats are bit streaky and patchy, but it is opaque on a 3rd coat. This isn't a sheer pink it is opaque and meant to be.

Price: $1.97 each at Walmart. Polishes that are unique these days at $1.97 are unheard of.

Overall: I'm extremely happy about discovering this collection and this color. This is a stunning pink with an extraordinary shimmer added to it. It stands out as unique in a sea of hum-drum mainstream and drugstore nail polishes these days. The formula for the price point is good, it's not perfect, but I can honestly let that aspect go. It's great polish and I think us oldsters in nail polish world and newbies to polish will equally love this one.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/22/15-11/29/15

I hope everyone had a great holiday week if you celebrated Thanksgiving. I had an almost perfect wax week the exception of one wax. I've been breaking out more of the holiday wax lately, but I think I'm still going to try to balance it out still. I don't want to burn out on holiday wax!
Ten Digit Creations Frosted Pumpkin
Scent Description: a warm, delicious recipe of pumpkin, spices, honey and maple topped with sugary vanilla frosting
My Experience: No, this wasn't the wax I didn't like this week. I'm not a bakery fan in the least, but I like Frosted Pumpkin. I melted this one while Thanksgiving dinner was cooking, so I think that's why this one worked for me. I find this is heavy on the pumpkin spice element with a hint of sugary notes from the frosting. It's sweet, but it's balanced out well with the spice and pumpkin. It really smells delicious and I oddly didn't tire of this one like I do with practically other bakery scent after an hour.

Yankee Candle Red Apple Wreath
Scent Description: This inviting blend with the merry aroma of sweet apples, cinnamon, walnuts and maple sets the stage for a heartwarming homecoming.
My Experience. This one was absolutely worthless. The lovely scent description is accurate when you smell it on cold or if your nose is practically touching the hot wax when it's warmed, otherwise this had absolutely not throw whatsoever. I couldn't smell this at all when warmed.

Ten Digit Creations Bedtime Bath
Scent Description: soothing and calming baby lotion scent with added notes of lavender and chamomile
My Experience: This smells just like the Johnson & Johnson lotion. I actually use this lotion on myself many nights and I'm not a baby. I used this one in my bedroom and loved it. It has that soft lavender, not an herbal lavender (I love that type too) mixed with chamomile. This is scent is soft, soothing, and perfect for bedtime. This one had a great throw to that lasted for several hours. I had this melting in my bedroom probably for 4-5 hours a night over 6 nights, so that's around 30 hours of scent! Love this one! I just ordered it in TDC's room spray too.

Ten Digit Creations Bayberry Forest
Scent Description: fir, cedar, and moss accompanied by notes of clove, black currant, plum, bergamot, and musk
My Experience: This is an excellent Christmas greenery/tree scent if you're not a fan of some of those heavier and earthier Christmas tree scents. This is bright, crisp, and fragrant. I think the blend with those fruity notes and the bergamot really brightens up those heavier tree notes. It's an excellent blend of notes that's festive and perfect for this time of year.

Better Homes & Gardens Iced Winter Cranberry
Scent Description: N/A
My Experience: Excellent cranberry scent. I would say this is 70% tart cranberry and 30% sweet cranberry. The tartness is what makes this scent for me as you know I don't like overly sweet scents. This is perfect. It almost smells like wine to me. This scent has some depth and richness to it that I love. It has a strong throw, but its not unpleasant or overpowering. This scent is very natural and I don't find it artificial. I'm pretty sure this is a dead on dupe for Bath & Body Works Frosted Cranberry too!

Happy Sunday!

Noodles Nail Polish Peppermint Twist

It's my favorite time of year! I'm not out shopping right now. Are you? I'm scared of Black Friday here. I live in major tourist area so it's not only shopping traffic, but tourist traffic too. Nope! I'm staying inside.

That being said, I'm ready to start the holiday cheer with a new to me indie brand. I came across Noodles Nail Polish holiday collection on Instagram a few weeks ago and knew I would be purchasing some of her pretties. I loved this collection so much and especially this color I'm showing you today.

Peppermint Twist
Peppermint Twist is a white crelly base with metallic red, metallic silver, and matte mint green glitters.

Collection: Noodles Nail Polish Holiday 2015

Color: This is peppermint perfection! I love this color. What I love so much about this is how this isn't a simple red and white polish. I love the depth the mint and silver glitters give this along with the varying glitter shapes. I love this take on peppermint!

Formula: This has a great formula. I used 3 coats above. This was so easy to apply and all the glitters spread out evenly on the nail.

Price: This is $8.50 on Noodles Nail Polish's etsy site. (**Currently on sale for $6.80 through 11/30)

Overall: What a great polish to kick off the holiday season. I love this crelly glitter. The colors in this are great, it fits the name perfectly. The formula on this is great. I have no complaints, and I'm a definite customer of Noodles now! I think this is Top 25 of 2015 contender worthy!

Serum No. 5 Power Reflective Top Coat

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

Yes, I'm still working through Cosmoprof polishes! This one is by Serum No. 5. This is my first polish from them, but I'm very familiar with the brand as I've been oogling over their polishes for a long time. This polish is definite oogle worthy!

Power (over Color Club Take A Hike)
Power is a clear blase filled with a rainbow of multichrome micro flakies.

Color: Wow! This is perfection. I love the rainbow of color-shifting flakies in Power. This shiny, sparkly, and color-shifty (hehe)! This is stunning. I don't have much else to say about that.

Formula: Top notch. I love the size of these flakies. They're teeny which gives you excellent coverage. I used one coat above and this was a breeze apply. You can see the great coverage I got in only one coat.

Price: This is $14.50 on Serum No. 5's website.

Overall: Power is a beautiful flakie topper. I love the rainbow of colors and the multichrome effect. The formula is spectacular and it's just an all around winning polish!

Ella + Mila Cup O'Latte

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

I came across the Ella + Mila booth this summer at Cosmoprof. This was a brand I had heard of, but never tried myself. This brand is really recognizable to me because of their absolutely adorable logo with that cute elephant. They kindly gave me a sample of one of their polishes to try and I wanted to let you know what I thought. This one is part of their "Mommy + Me" set which come with 2 colors. I only have the "Mommy" color, but you can buy it individually.

Cup O'Latte
Cup O'Latte is a taupe gray-brown creme.

Collection: Mommy + Me

Color: This is a color family I always steer clear of because they tend to look terrible on me. This one I think looks alright though. This is one of those gray, brown, with a hint of purple muted colors. I like colors like this because they're chic and sophisticated and perfect neutral for fall. I'm happy this one looks OK on me!

Formula: I thought this formula on this was average. The first coat was pretty sheer and jelly-like, but the second coat was opaque. I didn't have any issues with it, but I've had much better creme formulas.

Price: This is $10.50 on the Ella + Mila website.

Overall: I like this color, and I love the logo of the brand. I think they really have it together. That being said, I wasn't blown away with the formula. Also, at $10.50 a bottle for a creme it's a stretch in my opinion. . I do think this is a really cute boutique brand, and I would like to try more from them. I'm just not sold on them based on this one bottle.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/15/15-11/22/15

I have had some iffy wax weeks lately, so this week I did stick to some familiar favorites. I already reviewed those on here, but I did throw some newbies into the mix. I'd say for the most part I had positive results with the exception of one.
Yankee Candle Soft Blanket
Scent Description: a lullaby of clean citrus, luxurious vanilla and warm amber
My Thoughts: This is  a definite clean laundry scent, but whoa this baby is strong. I used this in my bedroom which is a smaller space and it was so overpowering it gave me a headache. I do like the scent itself, but I should of only used half the tart or used this in a much larger space. I have one of the tarts sitting next to me it's packaging as I'm writing this and it's strong unmelted and in plastic wrap! I should of realized that before I melted it!

Ten Digit Creations Peach Bellini
Scent Description: a bubbly champagne with white peaches and oranges
My Thoughts: I was skeptical on this one. I received this one as free sample with an order. Peach scents can either be too strong or artificial for my taste and this was neither. I loved Peach Bellini! This had a very natural fresh peach scent, mixed with citrus and some bubbly notes. You know me, I love bubbly scents. This wasn't sugary or sickly sweet like many scents like this can get. This was very fresh and crisp.

Ten Digit Creations Lavender Sage
Scent Description: fresh lavender complimented by herbal sage
My Thoughts: I love herbal/soothing/spa scents and this exactly that. This is straight up lavender and sage, no other notes or frills. I melted this in my bedroom and it was perfect. This is an excellent soothing and stress relieving scent. It's very herbal and natural smelling. It has a nice throw that wasn't overpowering. This is a winner for me.

Better Homes and Gardens Simmering Apple Cider
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: You know Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider you used to drink as a kid on New Year's Eve (I still drink it then!)? This is exactly what Simmering Apple Cider smells like, it should be renamed Sparkling Apple Cider. This has those bubbly and fizzy notes that I love paired with that cozy apple cider scent. This one isn't sugary or too sweet at all. It has that fresh and natural apple scent. This is the perfect festive, cozy, and crisp scent rolled into one. This one would be great for Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

Happy Sunday!

Blogger Blues

Time for a serious, I need to vent post. I'd say about blogger inadequacy, but I think it's just overall inadequacy. I feel like I'm a person who is equally afraid of failure as a I am success. Success scares me because I with success comes expectation. If I succeed at something then I'm going to have to prove I'm worthy of that success, can keep up with that success, and then do more to be even more successful. All of that makes me want to go into my bed and crawl into a ball.

Blogging for me has always been an outlet where I didn't have put expectations on myself. Failure and success were not going to be part of my vocabulary as a blogger. I would just be and enjoy sharing nail polish with people who liked it too. When I started blogging in 2010 there were not too many bloggers. The indie craze wouldn't hit it's momentum for another almost two- two and half years.

Not many people received samples from major brands when I started blogging. There were a select few of maybe 8-10 bloggers. Then there were bloggers like me who just wanted to blog their collection. That worked 3-4 years ago. Of course, I felt pressure sometimes to be better than I was, but I knew I would hate blogging if I did.

Blogging is an entirely different species these days. I can name people off one hand who are still blogging from when I started. I can't name a single blogger who is still blogging from when I started whose blog isn't primarily press samples. All of those people no longer blog. To say my blogging style in 2015 is outdated is a massive understatement.

Almost all the bloggers I follow post press samples as the main aspect of their blog. Mind you, I do not have a problem with bloggers posting press samples. Clearly, that is the mode you want to get into if you want to be a successful blogger. I think what made this difficult for me is that once indies struck, it made so many people bloggers and swatchers. Indies needed ways to promote their business so the blogging community started to burst with new people.

I receive press samples that are few and far between on purpose. I know just from swatching polishes I buy myself how much work is put into it. I wanted to have my own schedule, and I knew if put myself out there for press samples I'd basically be working for someone else. I'd feel that pressure I didn't want to feel . So naturally, I just kept doing what I was doing.

The thing is now, it doesn't work. A few years ago in the nail blogging world people knew who I was. I wasn't popular, but people knew I existed. Now, I think some people hear my name either have no idea who I am or think I'm some newbie blogger. I've been blogging for almost 6 years. It sucks to feel like such a nobody.

I remember at Cosmoprof I introduced myself to someone and they said "I think I know who you are", and my response was "I hope! I've been blogging almost 6 years". I think I may of come off big headed, which wasn't my intention. I think I was just more shocked at how irrelevant I have become. It sucks how well I used to know this industry. I was on top of every release, collection, trend, and I knew it all. Now, I can't keep up with anything. I'm so freaking irrelevant and dated it sucks. I never intended to be popular or the best when I started blogging, but I felt like people knew who I was at least.

I question now if I failed myself, if I had just been more of a go-getter when indies came out, maybe I'd be OK. Very few indies I met at Cosmoprof even knew who I was. I often wonder if I've been too modest. If I've tried to stick so much to my principles of staying true to myself as a blogger that it has failed me. Or is my modesty really done in fear of failing or putting myself in a position where I'd have to be more than I think I can give?

I don't know. I do know that if I put myself out there and become more successful I'd hate blogging, but I also know that I feel like I keep myself in the shadows because I don't feel worthy enough either. I can't explain it, and I'm not sure if it makes sense. I don't feel worthy enough to share my posts in FB groups because I know there hundreds of bloggers better than me. I don't want anyone to think I'm foolish enough to believe that I am somebody worthy of attention or praise.

I'd rather come off as humble and modest than showy. I've dealt with enough showy and ostentatious people in my life that I'd hated to be referred to as either. Then again, I hold back enough to the point where I feel like I'm undeserving and lack self confidence. I get to where I'm feeling now where I don't appreciate myself or show myself kindness. I just feel like crap.

I know my place in this blog-o-sphere is probably not going to change. If anything, it will probably go down. That's just the nature of how things are now. Reviewing, much less reviewing mostly one nail polish at a time is not enough anymore. People want to see full collections. They want to see nail art. They want to see glamour shots of nail polish in sunlight with hints of holo fleck butterflies and rainbows. I don't have time for that nor do I want to make time to do that.

I have to resign to the fact that unless I want to to this that and the other, this is just where I'll be. The good thing is I still do have readers and people who like my blog. I appreciate the people who still stop by here. It's not all bad, but sometimes it sucks and feels bad. I do think I need to improve myself self confidence and realize I'm just as worthy as anyone to share my posts if I want. I'm not there yet though.

Thanks for listening...

Third Week Throwbacks: Julie G Hot Cinnamon

I think it's safe to say the textured nail trend is over. I think it died with 2014. I can't say I ever was into the trend, but there were a few I liked from Zoya and Julie G. They definitely find their way into my rotation every once in awhile and I still appreciate the good ones. I have a Julie G one to show you today.

Hot Cinnamon
Hot Cinnamon is a cherry red with red textured sparkle.

Collection: Julie G Frosted Gumdrops 2013

Color: I think I maybe one of the few nail addicts who love red nail polish. I think it's because it's a color that suits me best. That being said, this is a great red. I love the vibrancy of this red and it would be great for the upcoming holiday season. I like the textured look of this,  the texture particles are uniform and makes this look chic and streamlined.

Formula: Excellent easy to use one coat formula. That's one of the reasons I love textures.

Price: You can purchase this on the Jesse's Girl website for $3.99.

Overall: This is a great textured red polish. I think there were some textured fails out there -cough- Zoya Ultra Pixies-, but ones like this I don't think are outdated at this point. I like the look of it, and it's a great all around polish.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Third Week Throwbacks: Hare Polish Dauphine of Decadence

I have one of my all time favorite polishes to share with you today. This is kind of my go to glitter topper when I have no idea what to do with my nails. It's the perfect unique and beautiful color combination and it's made my Hare Polish!

Dauphine of Decadence (over Maybelline Mink Lust)
Dauphine of Decadence is a mix of gold and matte green glitters with a golden shimmer.

Collection: Hare Polish The Last Queen of France Spring 2013

Color: This is absolute perfection for me. This the most beautiful glitter topper. I love the mix of matte and metallic. The softness of the mint green with that rich gold. It's gorgeous. I adored this entire collection because so many of the colors made me think they were inspired by the Rococo art movement in 18th century France. I loved the art from that period.

Formula: Excellent easy to apply formula. I used one coat over a base.

Price: As far as I know this one isn't available currently. I'm not sure if that's forever, but I sure hope not. Sorry.

Overall: I don't know what else to say. This is one of my favorite polishes of all time. I absolutely adore everything about it.

My Rating: 5 out of t 5 *Golden* Paint Splatters

Third Week Throwbacks: Pretty Serious The Pink One

Another late start to throwbacks week. The past week and last week has been a bit trying to for me. I've been feeling down and I have that awful sneaking suspicion things are not going to get any easier soon. This does tend to impede on my blogging, but I'm trying to pull through!

I actually have a new to me polish and brand to share with you today. The brand isn't new, nor is the polish though, and as it's over 2 years old it does classify as a throwback in my book! I received some of my first Pretty Serious Cosmetics polishes a few weeks ago during a Halloween gift exchange. I was really excisted as this brand has been on my wishlist and "to do" list for a very long time. I just never got around to getting any. This color is pretty spectacular!

The Pink One
The Pink One is a hot pink with an intense blue flash shimmer.

Collection: Pretty Serious Cosmetics Seriously Random 2013

Color: This is a bright pink, it's not neon, but it's definitely bright. I love bright pinks like this, but what makes it even better is that awesome shimmer with that blue flash. This color is really eye catching and beautiful. Love it!

Formula: Excellent formula. I used 2 coats above. I didn't have any trouble with application.

Price: This is $7.79 US Dollars on Pretty Serious' website.

Overall: Gorgeous polish. This is the type of color I consider a staple in every nail polish collection. I think everyone needs a color like The Pink One. This is a type of color that never goes out of style and is flattering on many.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Weekly Wax Wrap Up 11/8/15-11/15/15

This was an interesting week of wax for me. This was a week of some very high highs and some very low lows in regards to scents. The more try new scents the more I'm able to hone in on what type of scents are really my favorites. It's interesting how my preferences have evolved over the past few months.

Let's get started!
Better  Homes and Gardens Twinkling Holiday Lights
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I liked this on cold sniff. This a blend of Christmas tree and mint. That being said, when I melted this...I just can't. This one was so pungently strong. These are two very intense notes competing with each other, and I found it so overpowering it was nauseating. I was nauseated hours after I turned this off from that scent. This really needed some crisp airy notes to mellow this one out. The Christmas tree note in this one is very earthy and heavy, and I think a prefer a brighter and fresher Christmas tree note.

Yankee Candle Magical Frosted Forest
Scent Description: An enchanted place where icy breezes playfully dance through tall, snow-coated pines.
My Thoughts: This is a completely different story than BHG Twinkling Holiday Lights. This has that crisp snowy air note paired with a very bright Christmas tree note. This one is refreshing and festive without being overpowering. This is probably my favorite Christmas tree scent that I own.

Ten Digit Creations Ginger Ale
Scent Description: sparkling ginger ale soda
My Thoughts: I love sparkling/effervescent/bubbly scents. This smells like ginger ale, but a very sickeningly sweet ginger ale. This was way too sugary for me. I feel like it was missing some of that spicy/bitter quality of ginger that could of perfected this scent. I'm not going to give up on it though. I really love that fizzy quality it has, and I'm going to try mixing it with a straight up tart cranberry melt I have and see if it tones it down a bit.

Fairy Hill Candles Ocean Blossom
Scent Description: Fresh sea air with a hint of floral
My Thoughts: I'm in love. Ocean Blossom is that perfect blend of ocean, sea air, and clean laundry. It really is absolute perfection for me. If you've ever visited quaint seaside town, and you open your window first thing in the morning you smell Ocean Blossom. It's both fresh and comforting. I need to stock up on this.

Ten Digit Creations Sea Salt & Rice Flower
Scent Description: sea salt mingled with creamy rice flower, citrus peel, and cotton blossoms
My Thoughts: I like this scent, but I don't love it. It's heavy on those fresh laundry/floral type notes which I do like, but I think it could of used a bit more of sea salt and some watery notes in it to make it something from a like to a love. I don't have any problems with it though.

Chesapeake Bay Candle Eucalyptus
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I was afraid I would have the same experience with no throw like I did with the Lavender, but I didn't. This one actually had a strong throw. This had a very fresh and green scent with some floral qualities. I didn't get any of that strong menthol or minty qualities some people expect from eucalyptus. This was very straight up fresh and green. I liked it a lot.

Happy Sunday!

ILNP Maiden Lane

ILNP makes some excellent holographic polishes. They're a brand I've come to trust and love over the years. They continually put out high quality products that I'm always impressed with. This polish caught my eye from their recent fall collection.

Maiden Lane
Maiden Lane is a gorgeously upscale charcoal grey holographic polish with subtle blue undertones.

Collection: ILNP Fall 2015

Color: This is a beautiful steely blue-grey holographic. I'm getting bored of silver, grey, and charcoal holographics at this point. I see them all the time. This on the other hand with the addition of those blue tones is stunning! It really gives Maiden lane more richness and depth. Plus, that holographic effect is super duper strong!

Formula: Excellent formulation. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This is $10 on ILNP's site.

Overall: Maiden Lane is a stunningly beautiful polish. I love the strong holo effect and this color. The formula is great. Again, I'm impressed with ILNP.

My Rating. 5 out of 5 *Golden* Paint Splatters

Cuccio Dancing Queen

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

I have a new to me brand to share with you. I received sample from Cuccio Colour at Cosmprof. This is a brand I had heard of before, but never came across ever. I now know why. This is a salon only brand! No wonder I never saw it. I was glad to be introduced to it. I did realize while you can't buy this as professional from their own site, you can sometimes find these on etailers, Amazon, or eBay. It's not a total lost cause. I have one of the polishes from their fall collection to share with you.

Dancing Queen
Dancing Queen is a deep navy blue with blue and golden/green shimmer.

Collection: Cuccio Colour Royale Fall 2015

Color: You see that beautiful multi-dimensional shimmer in that bottle in my picture? Yeah, that barley translates on the nail. How frustrating is that! This color is a lovely rich blue shimmer. There is nothing wrong with that aspect, but I want to see what's in the bottle on my nail. I'm not getting that intense shimmer I see on my nail at all.

Formula: The formula on this was good. It was pretty standard. I used 3 coats above.

Price: You can find this in the $8-$9 range if you search it on Google.

Overall: I wanted to love this polish, but it really disappointed me. The base color is great. The formula is good. I just really wanted all that amazing shimmer I see in the bottle. I can't get past that!

My Rating: 3 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Color Club Favorite Flannel

*The following product was received in exchange for my honest review.

More Cosmoprof polishes to share with you today. I received this one from the Color Club booth and it is part of their current fall Cabin Fever collection. I actually like this collection as it does offer something different than other mainstreams this season. This collection has a lot of muted cremes. This is a trend that hasn't been around lately and a trend I really like. I previous reviewed Take A Hike. I have Favorite Flannel to show you today.

Favorite Flannel
Favorite Flannel is a muted coral creme.

Collection: Color Club Cabin Fever Fall 2015

Color: This is not a color you'd really think of when you think of fall. Coral is much more of a spring and summer color, but this shade has that dustiness to it that subdues the color. I like it, it's definitely one of those colors you could comfortable wear in fall without it being too obvious, but still fitting in. Does that make sense?

Formula: This had a really nice formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This is $8.50 on the Color Club site, but I'd also check e-tailers, Amazon, or eBay for a better deal.

Overall: I like Favorite Flannel, it's a nice departure from your traditional fall colors. I tend to gravitate toward traditional seasonal colors, but I'd make an exception for this one. It's a nice color and the formula is on point.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/1/15-11/8/15

It was mainly a good week wax wise with the exception of one. These are some I've melted before just never reviewed and one that was new to me. I'm trying to hold off too much on holiday wax because I really go into it too quickly recently. I don't want to burn out on them too much before the real holiday season hits. That doesn't mean I won't be melting any though!

Let's get started!

Ten Digit Creations Herb Patch
Scent Description: a fresh and clean spa fragrance with hints of fresh lavender and rosemary
My Thoughts: This is exactly as describe and perfect blend of lavender and rosemary. I love herbal scents like this as I find them soothing and calming. This had a strong throw and lasted in my warmer about 24 hours before fading! Two thumbs up!

ScentSationals Kiwi Watermelon
Scent Description: A sweet scent of melon twist
My Thoughts: This is a very authentic melon scent. I know some melon scents can be so artificial. This has a very refreshing, sweet, and clean watermelon scent with a touch of kiwi. I normally don't like overly sweet scents, but melon scents are a bit different. Melon scents have that really refreshing watery note that balances out the sweetness. This one had a strong throw and lasted several hours.
Where to Purchase: Here or Walmart

ScentSationals Coral Reef
Scent Description: Cool fresh ocean breeze
My Thoughts: This is a definite ocean and water scent, but it has this touch of men's cologne to it too. I  really like this blend and don't find that men's cologne note to overpower that refreshing aspect of this scent. I love clean scents and this another great one. This one also has a strong throw.
Where to Purchase: Here

ScentSationals Tea Thyme
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This smells just like herbal tea. It's soothing and clean. I like it. There isn't much else to say about it. It has a strong throw like that other ScentSationals above. If you like clean and soothing scents you'll like this one too.
Where to Purchase: Walmart

Suzy's Scent Shop Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
Scent Description: a charming fragrance filled with surprises the senses with plums, dark cherries and sweet oranges enhanced with peppery woody undertones.
My Thoughts: I'm 100% sure this is the same scent as TDC Plumberry Spice. They have different scent descriptions, but they're the same scent. I like it just as much as I like Plumberry Spice. It has a very festive berry fruity note mixed with some woodsy/green notes. It's a great blend for the holidays!
Where to Purchase: Here

Chesapeake Bay Candles Lavender
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I saw these wax melts at Target. They're a bit more expensive than the ones at Walmart at $3.29. I LOVED this on cold sniff. This is a straight up lavender scent. It's a very pure and natural lavender too. It has that mix of herbal and soapy qualities that I love. I find it hard to find just straight up one note wax melts, and I was excited to find this. That being said, this had absolutely no throw at all when melted. I could not smell it unless I put my nose one inch above the warmer. This was such a disappointment as I really liked this scent.
Where to Purchase: Target

That's it for this week's melts! See on the flip side!

Happy Sunday!

KBShimmer Winter 2015 Collection (7 of 14)

*The following products were sent in exchange for my honest review.

It is my absolute favorite time of year. It's the build up to Christmas! I don't like Christmas itself because then it's practically over. The build up to Christmas is the absolute best part. Almost two whole months of glitter, sparkle, cheer, and Christmas songs! I know some people absolutely hate this time of year, but I love it. Yes, I'm listening to Christmas music as I write this blog.

That being said, we have our first indie winter/holiday collection out already. This one is by KBShimmer and I have 7 of the 14 shades to share with you today.

Chilly Pepper
Chilly Pepper is a true Christmas red creme. (2 coats)

Coal in One
Coal in One is a charcoal gray linear holographic. (2 coats)

Brrr-tiful Dreamer
Brrr-tiful Dreamer is a muted grape crelly with aqua, silver, purple, and fuchsia glitters. (3 coats)

sELFie over Chilly Pepper
sELFie is a holographic glitter in a clear base with green, silver, and red glitters. (1 coat)

Fleece Navidad
Fleece Navidad is a soft silvery light gray polish with holographic sparkle and blue micro flakes. (3 coats)

Claws and Effect
Claws and Effect is a dark purple leaning navy holo polish with blue/pink shifting glass flakes. (3 coats)

Yule Worthy
Yule Worthy is a warm burgundy leaning chocolate brown with micro metal flakes. (2 coats)

Collection: KBShimmer Winter 2015 Collection

Colors: KBShimmer always covers all bases in their collections. This collection is no exception. There are a great mix of traditional holiday colors and non-traditional colors. The colors are all saturated and pigmented. I love the richness of these shades and how vibrant they are. Perfect for the holidays! Please note these are only 7 of the shades! You can view the rest here.

Formulas: These all had really good formulas. They applied easily and smoothly. sELFie is on the thick side as it's a very dense glitter. I dabbed it over a base color, but it can be worn alone in 3 coats.

Price: The glitters and holos are $8.75 each and the cremes are $7.50 each. You can purchase these on KBShimmer's website.

Overall: This is a beautiful winter collection. I love the variety offered in the colors and finishes. The formulas are on point. I wouldn't expect less from KBShimmer! My favorites from this bunch are Chilly Pepper, Yule Worthy, Claws and Effect, and Fleece Navidad. KBShimmer also had released some limited edition mani shot scents for the holidays as well as some awesome holiday themed water slide decals! The links I posted above will show all the winter offerings!

****Special Promo*** All orders over $75 will receive KBShimmer pink cosmetic bag. Each bag will include a full sized bottle of Clearly on Top, a KBShimmer emery board, KBShimmer magnet, Holiday Glitter Mix, 0.75oz mani shot, lotion sample, scrub sample, and soap sample (scents will vary). My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters
