Colors by Llarowe The Mighty Red Baron

I try to avoid CbL because I will get that incredible impulsive desire to buy every single polish created. CbL makes beautiful polishes, and every once in awhile I find them hard to resist! I have The Might Red Baron to share with you from this past spring collection. I will say I partially bought this just for the name alone, it immediately popped the Snoopy vs. the Red Baron song in my head. I L-O-V-E Snoopy, so any reference gets my attention. The polish though is excellent and gorgeous!

The Mighty Red Baron
The Mighty Red Baron is a deep scattered red holographic.

Color: I love red and I love holo. The combination is perfect. I love the richness of this red, and the scattered holo effect. Sometimes, I must admit I prefer a scattered holo. I know many people prefer linear.

Formula: I found this formula easy to apply and use. I used 3 coats above.

Price: This is $12.00 on Llarowe's website.

Overall: Gorgeous red holo polish. The formula was great. I think this color would be perfect for the upcoming holiday season!

Sally Hansen Chili Flakes

I have a really neat nail polish to share with you today. This is a Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Tracy Reese collaboration polish for fall, which means it's LE. This polish really stood out to me as something a little extra special this season, and will definitely compliment many fall manicures.

Chili Flakes over Zoya Ryan
Chili Flakes is a mixture of a silver, gold, red, and copper shard glitters in a clear base.

Color: This is a beautiful fall color combination of glitters, done in a very edgy and unique way. The shard glitter is unexpected, and this topper will look great with so many of the fall cremes out now. I love the addition of the red glitter in this polish because it really makes this glitter as whole pop.

Formula: I found this formula easy to use and apply which is a plus with this style of glitter. I used 2 coats over a base over.

Price: I purchased this in the $6-$8 range at CVS.

Overall: I think this is a Top 25 of 2014 contender for me. I love the uniqueness of this polish. I haven't seen anything like it this season. Chili Flakes would suit so many manis as a topper or accent nail. The formula was easy to use, and I'm calling it a must have!

Zoya Ryan

I have a deep shade from the fall Zoya Entice collection to share with you today. I have to be honest I'm on the fence about it. I bought it though because it stood out to me, but I'm starting to wonder if this shade of blue is becoming a little redundant.

Ryan
Ryan is a navy blue creme.

Color: This is absolutely a beautiful navy color. I love it. I picked it out, however, I'm also feeling a little "been there, done that". I'm sure I have other shades in my stash that maybe in certain lights look a tinge different, but in general, they're all pretty similar. They're dark, they're blue.  Again, it's a beautiful color, but I'm not sure you're scoring anything original or something you absolutely need here if you have other navy blues.

Formula: Great formula. I used 2 coats.

Price: This is $9 and can be found on the Zoya site or at Ulta.

Overall: Nice color. If you're a navy blue fan or need a navy in your collection, Ryan won't disappointed. If you have navy blue cremes in your collection, you can probably pass this one up.

Throwback Thursday: China Glaze Life Preserver

I have a great blast from the past fall favorite to share with you today. The strange thing is this color was released in a China Glaze spring collection, not fall. This color is definitely more fall like to me, and it's one I reach for this time of year.

Life Preserver
Life Preserver is a soft and muted burnt orange creme.

Collection: Anchors Away Spring 2011

Color: Am I right? This is more fall than spring? This a lovely soft pumpkin color. This color is saturated, but it has a touch of softness to it that I really love. Orange colors are not typically my favorite, but I adore Life Preserver.

Formula: This is a good 2-3 coat formula. I don't have any noticable formula issues with this one.

Price: A Google search will bring up various options in the $3-$7 range.

Overall: If you're looking for a great soft orange color for fall you can't go wrong with Life Preserver!

Lumina Lacquer Silver Springs

I have a blingy beauty to share with you today. Summer I was all about cremes and brights, but now that it's fall I'm breaking out the shimmers and glitters. This Lumina Lacquer is an attention seeking glitter for sure, and there is nothing wrong with that!

Silver Springs
Silver Springs is a holographic silver micro-glitter in a clear base.

Color: This is a pretty straight forward color wise, but it sure does wow! This a beautifully bright holographic silver that is in your face in all the right ways.

Formula: The formula on this is a little bit thick. I used 2 coats above. The more coats you use the thicker and harder to apply it gets. You can see some of my nail underneath with two coats in the photo, but in person this is so sparkly you don't see that at all.

Price: This is $10.00 on Lumina Lacquer's website.

Overall: This glitter is a definite stunner. If you like holographic glitter, you will want Silver Springs. The formula isn't my favorite, but far from bad. I think Silver Springs will be a great accent color once the holidays roll around!

Milani Color Statement Lacquer: Coral/Nuetral/Orange

I have some of the new Milani Color Statement line lacquers for you today. I've been dividing these up by color families to share with you. I'm grouping a few families together here since there were not that many of those individual colors.

I'll be doing one finger swatches of this line since it's so large! Be sure to check out my review of the greens, pinks, and blues.

Corrupted Coral
Corrupted Coral is a pink-toned coral creme.

Mauving Forward
Mauving Forward is a plum-mauve creme.

Pink Beige
Pink Beige is a pink-toned nude creme.

Mango Tango
Mango Tango is a bright red orange creme.

Colors: The colors here are nice. They're not the most original colors, but great staple colors. I really love Pink Beige, as I find pink-toned nudes harder to come by.

Formula: The formulas on these were good. I did find Corrupted Coral to be a bit thick and harder to use than the rest. That seems to be the same for all of the pastel and lighter colors in this collection.

Price: These polishes can be purchased on the Milani site or CVS for $3.99 each.

Overall: Nice selection of colors there. They're not original, but I do really like Pink Beige. The formula is standard as well, but the price is great if you do not have colors like this in your stash already.

Piggy Polish Vincent's Stars

On my trip to California this past June, I took advantage of stopping at as many Rite Aids as I could. As many of you know Florida is deprived of Rite Aid. While I was at one I saw a Piggy Polish display with a pretty blue polish that caught my eye. This pretty blue polish also happened to be holo, so in the cart it went!

Vincent's Stars
Vincent's Stars a denim subtle scattered holographic.

Color: I adore this shade of blue. This a medium denim blue jean blue. This is a very subtle holo. I am not a holo snob, and I actually like subtle holos. I love the pigmentation of the base color, and how it's accented with the holo.

Formula: Excellent formula. I needed only 2 coats.

Price: I paid around $7-$8 for this at Rite Aid. I have no idea if this still available in stores. Piggy Polish isn't really a brand you can find on the web either. I have done a search and seen some results in blog sales and on eBay.

Overall: I love Vincent's Stars. I love the pigmented denim base, and equally love the subtle holo effect. If you're a holo fan, you may be disappointed this doesn't pack a holo punch. Personally, I love it just the way it is!

Throwback Thursday: Sinful Colors Gogo Girl

You can never go wrong with a bright cherry red polish. What is even better is a bright cherry red polish that is $2. I have had this Sinful Colors polish in my collection since 2011, and it's been staple ever since.

Gogo Girl
Gogo Girl is a bright true cherry red crelly.

Color: This is pretty self explanatory. If you're looking for that reto bright red creme, you need to look no further than Gogo Girl.

Formula: This has a nice 3 coat formula. I call this a crelly because it's not quite jelly and not quite a creme. It's a nice mix of the two. I love the finish of this polish.

Price: This is $1.99 at Walgreens. I'm *pretty* sure this is part of the permanent collection. I got this in 2011, but I've seen it around since.

Overall: Gorgeous classic red color. The formula and finish are great, and the price is hard to beat!

KBShimmer Fall 2014 (5 of 10)

* I received the following products in exchange for my honest review.

I have for you today some of the polishes from KBShimmer's fall collection. What I like about this collection is KBShimmer plays around with various fall trends from vampy to muted. She also adds some holo and glitter in some of the polishes for flair!

These polishes are available for purchase today on the KBShimmer website.

Hugs & Wishes
Hugs & Wishes is a muted light lavender creme. (2 coats)

Kiss & Spell over Hugs & Wishes
Kiss & Spell is a Halloween-themed glitter with a mix of yellow, black, orange, purple, and green glitters in varying shapes in a clear base. (2 coats)

A Raisin to Live
A Raisin to Live is a blackened ox blood jelly base with holographic glitters. (3 coats)

Leaf of Faith
Leaf of Faith is a cabaret red jelly with red, orange, and gold glitters. (3 coats)

Up & Cunning
Up & Cunning is a teal linear holographic.

Colors: I love the color variation in this collection. I only have 5 of the shades, so be sure to check out the others on KBShimmer's site. Fall is more than vampy shades, and KBShimmer offers vampy colors, jewel tones, and muted shades in this collection.

Formulas: The formulas on these were all good. I did find the creme and jelly glitters to be a bit on the thick side, but nothing difficult to deal with. I just prefer a thinner formula. I really loved the formulas on Up & Cunning and Kiss & Spell.

Price: All the shades I reviewed excluding Hugs & Wishes are $8.75. Hugs & Wishes is $7.50. These all can be purchased on the KBShimmer website.

Overall: I really enjoyed this selection of fall nail polishes. Like always, KBShimmer makes a little something for everyone in her collections. I did find a few of the formulas a little thicker than I prefer, but that didn't sour any of the polishes for me. My favorites of the bunch are Hugs & Wishes, Kiss & Spell, and Up & Cunning.

Sephora X Free Fall

Sephora is a dangerous place, especially the nail section. The Sephora X nail polishes have some of the best nail polishes as far as selection, color, originality, and finishes. It is a nail polish addict's dream come true. The only problem is their polishes are in the $10.50-$12.50 range which is well outside what I'm comfortable for nail polish typically. They're very hard to resist, which makes it that much harder to try to pick ones out the ones you "need" when you have the cash to spare. I picked up this pretty a few months ago.

Free Fall
 Free Fall w/ top coat

Free Fall is an ice blue textured glitter.

Color: This is a beautiful shade of blue. I'm not into texture much, but this icy and sugary blue is awesome!

Formula: The formula on this is average. I did find it a bit chunky and took a more careful application. I would of preferred a more perfected formula for the price tag.

Price: This is $12.50 at Sephora.

Overall: This is a beautiful nail polish. This makes me think of the movie "Frozen". and I'd expect you could create a lot of beautiful winter-themed manis with Free Fall. The color is great, the formula could be better, but all around I like this one.

Way-Cool Mani Wednesday: Soft & Holo

I haven't quite reached vampy fall nail polish stage yet, but I'm breaking out a lot of dusty and muted colors. Here is a recent mani I did featuring Silly Bee's Chickadees and a-england.

Polishes Used: Silly Bee's Chickadees Sass & Sassability and a-england Her Rose Adagio.

I have to say I think I favor soft pastel holos over bright ones! I love they subtle sparkle!

Happy Wednesday!

Zoya Remy

It's hard not to be ready for fall. I see fall and Halloween decorations everywhere! I'm also seeing Christmas decorations. Sigh. I even had a Christmas song in my head the other day. So much for living in the moment! I'm ready for fall. I think it can be declared unofficially fall anyways.

I have a fall Zoya stunner to show you today. I have a feeling this is going be on the of the "it" nail polish colors of the season.

Remy
Remy is saturated deep blue with copper and gold metallic shimmer.

Color: Do I even need to describe how amazing this is, really? Look at it? This is a sparkling rich deep blue. This catches the light beautifully and is a-freaking-mazing.

Formula: Very easy to use 2 coat formula. Applies nicely and smoothly.

Price: This is $9.00.

Overall: This is a 100% must have. I don't even think this will be contender on my Top 25 of 2014. This will have definite place on the list. There is a spoiler for you.. Everyone needs Remy in their stash. Gorgeous polish!
